With more and more happy faces attending the National Black Bear Festival each year from all across the country and the world, we strive to make our festival BIGGER and BETTER each year!  The National Black Bear Festival 2025 will be the best yet with additional selling time added to Friday night!   As always, we will do everything to provide a fun and safe festival for all.  Please make sure to read this application in its entirety and complete all requirements, including signatures, so that there is no delay in your submission.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.  This is an electronic agreement and by your submission, you are validating and approving this agreement.  We can not wait to partner with all of you to make this National Black Bear Festival on June 6th and 7th wonderful beyond imagination!

Hello Non-profits!We will continue to have partnership opportunities in 2025 with our non-profits.  Please complete the application below and indicate if your group is interested in assisting us with the festival this year.  We also have a few booths available for groups to have booth space.  These groups may ONLY disseminate information about the organization and have give aways.  There will be absolutely NO RAFFLES or T-shirt sells.  If you are interested, sign up early, as we will only have 5 spots.

Need one volunteer to control line, record results and hand out stickers to runners. Other volunteer to use the laser gun to record speeds and cheer on runners. Sticker sales, money and change handling involved.

To ensure that crowd control is adhered to within the museum and that displays are not touched. Requires standing and walking.

Responsible for selling and collecting money for all Official Festival Merchandise. (Tee shirts, Stuffed Bears, Etc.) Cash, Credit Card handling and accurately make change. Accurately calculate purchase totals. Suggestive selling appreciated. Retail experience is helpful.

Adult- Waiver- Directs Boat Driver Boat Driver- Drives Boat Loaders- Loads and unloads tubers and fits with life jackets and ensures life jacket return. Spotters- Keeps an eye on all tubers when loading, tubing, unloading for safety issues.

Help to set up all Festival events areas. Heavy lifting, bending, carrying, moving. Various needs

The Parrish house will be a resting and cool off spot for Sponsors and Vendors during the festival. Volunteers will greet and hand out water to the Sponsors and Vendors using the facility. Some clean up will be required. Location is air conditioned.

Responsible for ticket sales, getting waivers signed and line control.

Block captains. Captains will be assigned a block to monitor when vendors are checking in. Responsibilities include making sure vendors drop off merchandise and/or trailer, go to designated parking area, come back and set up in their designated area ONLY! Assist with any needs, questions or problems their assigned vendors may have. Report any problems to Director or Vendor Coordinator.

Responsible for keeping Kids Zone running smoothly. Notify proper departments of any issues that may occur.

Assist festival visitors in answering questions such as Emergency protocol, Event schedule, First Aid stations, etc. Hand out festival flyers, schedules, etc.

Monitor the Art show visitors. Sales of selected art projects. Monitor the Vendor, Sponsor, Volunteer area.

10:00 am Set up Door Prize Boxes 3:00 pm Check on Door Prize Boxes to see if any supplies are needed or if they need to be emptied. 7:00 pm Take down Door Prize Boxes
Responsible for children ages 1- 6 being allowed to ride the electric bear. Collect money for the ride. Having waivers signed.

Guide visitors on a enjoyable and relaxing ride along the Roanoke River. Captain- Drives Boat Spotter- Assist with loading and un-loading of boat and making sure visitors have life jackets on. Dock Assistant- Makes reservations for guests, controls times and lines, gets waivers signed.
