BEANS AND CORNBREAD
Thousands will flock to the festival to enjoy the 1,000 lbs. of pinto beans stewing in giant cast iron cauldrons. The fest also features the Bean Fest Artisans Market on the Square that's filled with handmade crafts from around the state. GREAT ARKANSAS CHAMPIONSHIP
OUTHOUSE RACES
The ridiculous race showcases cleverly themed privies steered by drivers sitting on toilet seats. The "people powered potty" teams are racing for high stakes - the gold toilet seat award (and cash prize).
MUSIC
Music will be on the Courthouse Stage all weekend long. Don't forget to stop in the Pickin' Park to see both locals and pickers from out of town having mini jam sessions under the gazebos.
We are looking for some judges for this year's Bean Cookoff. Starting at 11am, our judges will taste all of the beans that have been cooked for the competition. We have 32 pots of beans, so that means 32 bites of beans in your belly. Are you ready to help with choosing the BEST beans at Bean Fest 2025?
A hint of autumn in the air means outhouse racers are being constructed and bean and cornbread recipes perfected for the Arkansas Bean Fest and Great Arkansas Championship Outhouse Race, to be held Friday and Saturday, October 24th & 25th, 2025 in Mountain View, AR.
This great event has a Parade of Outhouses around 1 p.m. on Saturday. The crowd gathers to cheer for their favorite "people powered potty" team of driver and pushers. The wheeled outhouses are outfitted with a steering device for the driver (while sitting on a potty seat), with power provided by two pushers. Teams get into the spirit by dressing in costumes to fit the theme of their privy. All sense of decorum is abandoned as the racers line up and run in heats on Howard Ave. to determine the fastest privy in the Ozarks. Teams compete for the revered Gold, Silver and Bronze toilet seat awards and cash prizes.
