Celebrating community through music on the porches of Virginia Highland! Kick-start the day with our Rock n Relay at 10:30am. Then, enjoy some of the best local bands and musicians in town on the lovely porches around the neighborhood from 11 am to 6 pm with additional bands playing in the business district after 6 pm.

    Here are a few details for Rock N Relay! Check in will begin at 10 AM outside of John Howell Park on Barnett Ave. To check in you will need either your QR code, or you may provide your first and last name. There will be an optional warm-up, sponsored by Contour Pilates before the race at 10 AM. Bars open at 11 AM so enjoy a cool one after the race. Don't forget to wear your favorite music gear and rock out! See you on Saturday!

    The VaHi Porchfest Rock n Relay is BACK this year with a twist. You can now participate as a solo runner OR as a relay. Form a squad of 1-4 runners and rock the half-mile laps as a team. Fewer teammates? No problem! Run the full two miles and show off your endurance. Rockstar outfits and costumes encouraged! Information: - Kids under 12 run FREE! - Runners will receive a FREE drink voucher and Porchfest koozie Thank you for supporting this fundraising event! Rock on!

    Virginia Highland Porchfest is BACK for its 5th year on May 17, 2025! Please check out the available volunteer opportunities. We appreciate you helping us bring this event together once again! All volunteers will receive an exclusive Porchfest t-shirt and a free drink ticket from concessions. Want MORE free drinks? - Sign up for a second (non-overlapping) shift and get an additional free drink ticket plus a limited edition tote bag and koozie. - Refer a friend! If you invite a friend to sign up for a shift (AND they show up), you will get an extra drink ticket! QUALIFICATIONS: They cannot have volunteered for Virginia Highland District events in the past and you MUST confirm your referral upon their shift confirmation to qualify. Need community service hours? We're happy to complete your form; please bring it with you for a signature at the end of your shift or email to events@virginiahighlanddistrict.com.

    Thank you for your support on Saturday, May 17, for Porchfest - Virginia Highland District's largest fundraiser of the year! We're excited to be celebrating our 5th year of bringing music and neighbors together for this special community event. 

     

    This year, we are offering orange plastic fencing and posts to help protect your property from any wandering guests. Each sign-up will receive approximately 100 feet of fencing and six posts. If you're able, we'd appreciate if it you could install it yourself. 

     

    If you utilized this service last year, please indicate if it is reusable or if you need more materials.
