March Events at Hessel School House

Come create a magical stained glass shamrock with the talented artist Connie Thompson. This hands-on experience is designed for all skill levels—whether you're a beginner or an experienced crafter, you'll leave with a beautiful piece to cherish or gift. All materials are included, so just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! The workshop will take place at the Hessel School House from 10 AM to 3 PM. With a limited class size of just 6 participants, you'll receive personalized attention and guidance throughout the day.

March 8 - 10AM-12PM Create your own mosaic painting using natural elements! With guidance from artist Marissa Wissner, learn how to choose a variety of items from nature to compose your own work! You will have the choice of keeping your mosaic in its natural setting or you can paint over it! Bring a friend and enjoy a morning of creativity! All materials will be provided. This class is geared for children ages 6-11 years old. Class Fee: $20.

March 8 - 1 PM-3 PM Are you interested in using a different drawing medium in your work? Try gel pens! Using a variety of paper and gel pens, artist Karen Mazzoline will teach you how to create unique and colorful drawings. Learn some tips and tricks to get the best look from gel pens. All materials will be provided. Come and enjoy an afternoon of drawing!

Saturday, March 15 from 1-4 PM Irish-Themed Puzzle Palooza Party A Fundraiser for Hessel School House Put your puzzle-solving skills to the test at our Irish-Themed Puzzle Palooza Party! Gather your team of four or join others for an afternoon of friendly competition and fun. See who can assemble a jigsaw puzzle the fastest while enjoying light refreshments and beverages. Tickets: $25 per person (includes entry and assorted snacks) Sign up with a team of four, or we’ll happily pair you with fellow puzzle enthusiasts. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged! March 21 - 6:30-8:30 PM Celebrate the coming of spring with our Spring Blooms Paint n’ Sip! You get to choose the color of your vase and the flowers that you will paint! With guidance from artist Karen Mazzoline, learn how to paint a basic still life of flowers using a variety of techniques! All materials will be provided! All you need to bring is your drink of choice and a friend! Class Fee: $40.00

Saturday, March 29 - 1-4 PM The start of spring means that Easter is on the horizon, which for many people means one thing—it’s time to start decorating eggs. In Ukraine, Easter egg decorating is an important art form that dates back centuries. Known as pysanky, these beautiful and intricately patterned eggs are decorated using the wax-resist (batik) method creating stunning motifs. Come learn this traditional art form with artist Bette Smith at Hessel School House. All materials and step-by-step instruction is provided. Participants are asked to bring 3 farm fresh eggs and a towel from home (dish towel size). Kits will not be provided to take home, but a materials list will be provided by the instructor for those that wish to create additional eggs on their own in the future.
