About the event
BWASH and the City of Sugar Hill are excited to host our 6th annual Juneteenth celebration. We are excited to bring back crowd favorites of music, family games, vendors, kid-zone, food trucks, and a $1K scholarship award. This is a FREE event and we look forward to welcoming you on June 21st from 4pm-9pm Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of the remaining enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, TX. It is also called Emancipation Day or Juneteenth Independence Day. The name “Juneteenth” references the date by combining the words “June” and “nineteenth,” as the traditional date, which is now a federal holiday in the United States, recognized on June 19th.

A submitted application does not imply approval. All applicants will be notified as to the status of their application by 5/27/2025 or earlier.
2. Only one vendor or business allowed per booth.
3. Any vendor who misrepresents the content or intent of their booth will be asked to leave the event area, with NO Refund.
4. Only products approved by the Black Women's Association (BWASH)/City of Sugar Hill will be allowed to be sold at the event.
5. Vendors must provide all their own props and equipment; including tents, tables, weights and tie-downs for securing tents. Trash containers, restroom facilities, and eating areas will be provided. If your space requires power, you must have a generator. 
6. All booth spaces will be outdoors.
7. Booth set-up must be completed and ready to sell by 3:30 pm. The estimated event end time for vendors is 9:00 pm.
8. Vendors are responsible for the clean-up of their areas after the event. Booths must remain open and shall not be dismantled before the event's end. After the event, all merchandise must be packed and the booth completely disassembled before vehicles will be allowed into the event area for loading and departure. Any vendor space that is left unclean or damaged will be subject to cleaning fees and/or fines.
9. In case of inclement weather the BWASH/City of Sugar Hill will inform vendors if the event will be rescheduled. The event is RAIN or SHINE unless otherwise stated.
10. Knives, firearms, fireworks, weapons, or other dangerous items MAY NOT be displayed or offered for sale.
11. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only.

Join us for our 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration! Volunteers like you are the heart of this community event, and we need your help to make it a success. **Volunteer Opportunities:** - Pre-event Marketing - Day of Event Setup - Vendor Assistance - Activity Support During the Event - Post-event Cleanup **Event Details:** - Date: Saturday, June 21 - Time: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Location: The Sugar Hill Bowl **Volunteer Shifts:** - Shifts are 2 hours long, and you can sign up for multiple shifts if you'd like to volunteer for longer. **Pre-event Informational Meeting:** - Date: Wednesday, June 18 - All volunteers are encouraged to attend to learn more about the event and their roles. Zoom link will be shared **Volunteer Hour Documentation:** - We will provide documentation of volunteer hours for high school students needing service credits. If you want to help but aren’t available to volunteer, check out our “Other Ways to Help” section for additional ways to get involved. The Black Women's Association of Sugar Hill Scholarship Program was created to assist high school seniors who are members of the community pursuing higher education from an accredited academic institution.

The Black Women’s Association of Sugar Hill (BWASH) is a volunteer organization located in Gwinnett County, Georgia.  BWASH grew out of a need to provide support to women in need of cultural support and sisterhood.  Our organization has grown in its vision by actively serving the community and organizing community events  BWASH offers a scholarship to a deserving student wishing to further their education at a four-year college, community college, technical or trade school.
