Eugene Springfield PRIDE is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for all members of our community, including those who are in recovery or choose to celebrate PRIDE in a sober environment. The Sober Circle is a designated alcohol- and substance-free space at the festival, providing a supportive, calm, and engaging area for attendees who want to connect without the presence of alcohol or other substances.
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate volunteers to help maintain this space throughout the event. As a Sober Circle Volunteer, you will:
- Greet and welcome attendees to the space
- Provide a supportive and inclusive atmosphere
- Help facilitate light activities and conversations (if applicable)
- Ensure the area remains alcohol- and substance-free
- Assist with setup and cleanup of the Sober Circle
If you’re passionate about creating a safe and affirming space at PRIDE, we’d love to have you on board!
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods.
• A team-oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate.
• Ability to stay calm and offer friendly assistance in busy situations.
• Training will be provided prior to the event.

Terms and Conditions for Eugene Springfield PRIDE Festival 2025
For Volunteers
1. Scope of Volunteer Service
1.1. Role and Duties
Volunteers agree to perform tasks assigned by the Pride Day Equality Project organizers or designated coordinators. Duties may include event setup and breakdown, attendee assistance, distributing materials, monitoring event areas, and other responsibilities as directed.
1.2. Duration of Service
Volunteers are expected to commit to the shifts and times agreed upon during the sign-up process or orientation. Any changes in availability should be promptly communicated to the volunteer coordinator.
1.3. Volunteer Status
Volunteers acknowledge that their role is unpaid and does not establish an employee-employer relationship. No compensation, benefits, or employment rights will be provided.
2. Code of Conduct
2.1. Respect and Inclusivity
Volunteers must uphold the values of equality, inclusion, and respect. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of hateful or harmful behavior will not be tolerated.
2.2. Professionalism
Volunteers are expected to act professionally, respectfully, and responsibly while interacting with attendees, fellow volunteers, and event staff.
2.3. Substance Use
Volunteers must not consume alcohol, marijuana, or illegal substances during their shifts. Volunteers must report to their duties sober and remain so for the duration of their service.
2.4. Following Instructions
Volunteers agree to follow all instructions from organizers and coordinators, including safety protocols and event procedures.
3. Health and Safety
3.1. Safety Protocols
Volunteers are required to adhere to all safety regulations set by the Pride Day Equality Project, including emergency protocols, crowd control guidelines, and health regulations.
3.2. Personal Well-Being
Volunteers are responsible for their well-being during the event. This includes wearing weather-appropriate clothing, staying hydrated, and taking breaks as needed. Volunteers should notify a coordinator if they require assistance or medical attention.
3.3. Public Health Guidelines
Volunteers agree to follow any health or safety measures (e.g., mask-wearing, hygiene protocols) required by local authorities or event organizers.
4. Confidentiality and Media
4.1. Confidential Information
Volunteers may have access to confidential information, such as event logistics or contact details of staff and participants. Such information must not be disclosed without explicit permission.
4.2. Photography and Media
Volunteers understand that photographs or videos may be taken during the event. By participating, volunteers grant Pride Day Equality Project the right to use their image for promotional purposes without compensation. Volunteers may opt out of being photographed by informing the organizers in advance.
4.3. Social Media
Volunteers may share personal experiences from the event on social media, provided it aligns with the values of Pride Day Equality Project. Volunteers must not post confidential information or make statements on behalf of the organization unless authorized.
5. Liability and Insurance
5.1. Assumption of Risk
Volunteers acknowledge that their participation involves certain risks (e.g., large crowds, environmental conditions). Volunteers assume these risks and agree to hold Pride Day Equality Project harmless from claims arising from their participation.
5.2. Accidents or Injuries
In the event of an accident or injury, volunteers should immediately notify a coordinator. Pride Day Equality Project may carry general liability insurance, but volunteers are responsible for understanding the extent of any coverage.
5.3. Indemnification
Volunteers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pride Day Equality Project, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from their actions or omissions.
6. Termination of Service
6.1. Volunteer-Initiated Termination
Volunteers may discontinue their service at any time by notifying a coordinator. Advance notice is appreciated to ensure smooth event operations.
6.2. Organizer-Initiated Termination
Pride Day Equality Project reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s service at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these Terms and Conditions.
7. Agreement and Acknowledgment
By signing up or participating as a volunteer for Eugene Springfield PRIDE 2025, volunteers confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Volunteers may be required to sign a confirmation form to formalize their commitment.
