All previous team leads and new applicants must complete this form to be considered for a Team Lead position at the RIS 2024 Convention. As a Team Lead for the RIS Convention 2024, you will be responsible for guiding and managing a team of volunteers, ensuring the smooth operation of the event. This role includes providing direction, support, and motivation to your team members within your designated departments. You will communicate effectively with fellow volunteers, attendees and your team, addressing any issues or conflicts that arise promptly. Additionally, you will ensure that all team members adhere to the RIS Volunteer Standards, fostering a positive and collaborative environment throughout the convention. Whether you are an experienced team lead or this is your first time, by applying to serve as a Team Lead at the 2024 Reviving the Islamic Spirit (RIS) Convention, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which include all standard volunteer terms with additional responsibilities specific to the Team Lead role: 1. COMMITMENT TO SERVICE Team Leads are required to commit to volunteering for all three days of the RIS Convention and for any necessary set up at the onsite tour. This commitment ensures consistent support for your team and a positive experience for all volunteers and attendees. 2. MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND TRAINING Team Leads must attend at least one mandatory in-person orientation training session, the mandatory in-person onsite tour, and a specific Team Lead training session. These sessions are essential for meeting your team and preparing you to lead your team effectively. 3. ATTENDANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leads are expected to attend all assigned shifts, fulfill their responsibilities diligently, and lead by example. Roles and duties will be assigned based on the needs of the convention, and it is crucial to follow the instructions provided by RIS staff. Team Leads are responsible for: - Communicating with their team, guiding and supporting them. - Checking in their volunteers at the beginning of every shift and checking them out after each shift. - Addressing any conflicts that arise and escalating situations as needed to ensure a positive and productive environment. Your leadership is vital to maintaining the smooth operation of the convention. 4. TEAM LEAD STANDARD OF CONDUCT As a Team Lead, you are expected to uphold the RIS Volunteer Standards at all times, with additional responsibilities, including: - Leadership and Guidance: Provide support, direction, and motivation to your team members. - Conflict Resolution: Address any conflicts or issues within your team promptly and effectively. - Communication: Ensure clear and open communication between your team and RIS staff. - Etiquette and Respect: Treat all attendees, fellow volunteers, and vendors with courtesy and respect, promoting a positive atmosphere.
