Each November, the Downtown Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is held in Historic Melbourne, Florida to highlight the local community and charm. Visitors to the Festival will experience a culinary adventure while listening to live music and taking in a host of other entertainment. Tickets are required to participate in the festival and sample the food, wine, spirits, and beer. This year's event will be gated, ensuring exclusive access for ticket holders. About the application

We need your assistance at the Downtown Melbourne Food & Wine Festival on Saturday, November 9th and the days leading up to and after! All shifts are outside (unless noted), please dress appropriately. Volunteers working during the event will be provided with a festival shirt. The volunteer shirt needs to be worn while working All shifts are for volunteers 16 years of age and up, unless otherwise noted. Drinks and food will be provided during your shifts. Parking is extremely limited, we suggest ride-sharing. The city parking lots MAY charge a fee after 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 9th. There will be a virtual volunteer training and information session ONE week before the Festival.

Terms & Conditions

Must be 16+ to volunteer for this assignment. Agree to notify festival staff 48 hours prior to shift if they can no longer make the shift as this allows for festival staff to find a replacement. Volunteer must be okay with directing adults.

Volunteers this is an inside shift and will consist of work as an assembly line packing the supply boxes for the vendors. Expect to be on your feet for the shift, lifting boxes & packing boxes. Will allow for mature, younger teens that need hours.

Volunteers assist with check-in of food & drink vendors. Will be under a tent for this shift, located in a parking lot at the staging area for Vendor Check-In. Greet vendors and introduce them to a volunteer who will escort them to their tent.

Festival Entrance volunteers will be assisting with checking ticket holders into the event by scanning tickets, checking IDs, putting wristbands on attendees, and routing the queueing line.

Volunteers will assist a set number of vendors during the event by restocking ice, supplies, and other assistance as needed. You will be on your feet and in a golf cart travelling throughout the festival. Requires ability to lift.

Volunteers will be assisting with checking ticket holders into the event by confirming VIP wristbands are already in place, putting festival wristbands on attendees, handing out tasting glasses, as well as assisting within the VIP tent, i.e. cleanup, monitoring VIP entrance to the main area.

Volunteers must be 18+ to sign up for this shift. Volunteers will be driving golf carts on the footprint as needed, to deliver ice/supplies to vendors.

Responsible for distributing tasting glasses to all general admission attendees after they check-in and receive their wristbands.

Volunteers will man the gate at the entrance of the golf cart lane and open and close as needed for golf cart traffic throughout the evening.

Volunteers will make sure that as attendees exit the event footprint, glasses and trash are disposed of in the provided trash bins as well as remove attendee's wrist bands.

After the festival ends, volunteers are needed to assist with the breakdown and clean up of the site, this requires heavy lifting and being on your feet. Taking down signage, loading linens in a truck, boxing unused glasses and other tasks.

Volunteers will be staged at each of the three drink tents and the beer garden area in order to collect all the bottles/containers that we have paid for, that are still left over when the event ends.
