Volunteer Job Description: First Aid - Palm Springs Pride Festival and Parade
Role Summary:
As a First Aid Volunteer, you will provide basic medical assistance to festival-goers, parade attendees and our volunteers in helping to ensure their safety and well-being. You’ll be part of a supportive team dedicated to making Palm Springs Pride a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid care for minor injuries such as cuts, bruises, and dehydration.
- Ensure a clean and organized first aid station.
- Monitor festival grounds and parade routes for potential medical emergencies.
- Assist in triaging more serious medical cases and notify emergency services as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and treatments provided.
- Communicate effectively with festival staff and other volunteers.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Previous first aid training or certification (e.g., CPR, Basic Life Support) is required.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Comfortable working in a busy and vibrant festival environment.
- Physically able to stand and move around for extended periods.
