Dragon Con New Volunteer

Thanks for your interest in volunteering at Dragon Con 2024. This application is for those that have never volunteered before. Please reach out to us at volunteers@dragoncon.org if you have already volunteered and would like to continue.

I, the undersigned agree to serve as a volunteer at the Dragon Con 2024 Convention (the “Convention”) on the terms of this Volunteer Agreement.   This Agreement covers all events and occurrences before, during and after the Convention, including but not limited to set-up and registration prior to, and break-down after the Convention, and all sessions, seminars, meetings, parades, concerts, meals and all activities, whether on or off the premises of one of the Convention hotels, as well as my travel to and from the Convention (together, “Service Activities”).   I represent to the Convention operator, Dragon Con, Inc. and its officers and employees, that: (i) I understand that I am a volunteer, and not an employee of the Convention or Dragon Con, Inc. and that I will not be paid any money or other item of value for any of my Service Activities; and (ii) I am physically and mentally fit and able to perform the activities assigned to me, with no limitations. If I am a person with a disability volunteering for the event, I certify that I am able to perform the activities assigned to me notwithstanding any disabling condition I may have. I agree that (i) I will abide by all policies and instructions of Dragon Con, Inc. and its employees; and (ii) Dragon Con, Inc. may terminate my service as a volunteer at will, at any time, and for any reason, without compensation to me. I also agree that, (i) Dragon Con, Inc. and the Convention will not provide me or my dependents with any worker’s compensation insurance, health insurance, dental or vision insurance, or any medical insurance whatsoever, and that all such insurance shall be my responsibility; and (ii) if I have concerns about my health or ability to participate in Service Activities, or any limitations for such participation, it is my responsibility to discuss any concerns with my physician before participating as a volunteer, and to inform Dragon Con, Inc. in writing of any limitations in my ability to participate.  I assume the risk of all injuries or illnesses that may occur to me or to my property as part of any Service Activities. I hereby waive any and all claims that I may ever have against the Convention, Dragon Con, Inc., and its owners, officers, employees, agents, sponsors, other volunteers or Convention guests (together, “Convention Participants”), for any reason, including any injury to my person or property that may occur as a result of any Service Activities.  I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all Convention Participants for any injury or damage I may cause.   If I require emergency medical treatment, I give my permission to licensed medical personnel to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide medicine and medical care to me.  I waive any claim I may ever have against any person or entity who renders medical care or treatment to me.  I agree to accept full financial responsibility for all care and treatment provided to me. Additionally, I acknowledge that under Georgia law, there is no liability for an injury or death of an individual on or off the premises of one of the Convention hotels or Dragon Con venues if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of contracting COVID-19. I accept that I am assuming the risk by entering the premises and participating in Dragon Con activities. I also acknowledge that there is a risk of injury or death from Covid-19 that I may contract during my travel to or from the Convention or any Dragon Con venues. I accept the risk of contracting Covid-19 or transmitting Covid-19 to others as a result of travel to or from the Convention or any Dragon Con venue.
