About the application

Our volunteer shifts for the 2023 Twin Cities Pride Festival are available below. We have opportunities available for pre event set up, post event clean up, and lots of options during the festival itself. Take a look and find something that aligns with your experience and interests, or try something new! Please only sign up for one shift at a time. If you would like to sign up for more then one shift, please ensure they do not have any overlap (unless you are signing up for back to back shifts in the same department.) All volunteers will receive a T-shirt, swag bag, as well as a free meal during their shift!

I affirm and support the mission of Twin Cities Pride and the history of and purpose for holding a pride festival: Twin Cities Pride seeks to empower every LGBTQ+ person to live as their true self and to create a future where all LGBTQ+ people are valued and celebrated for who they are. The Pride celebration commemorates and continues the fight against discrimination and the struggle for equality, for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer persons and their families. Violations of Twin Cities Pride rules and regulations may result in exclusion from participation, both during the event and in following years.

Assist with monitoring the cereal bar in the Youth Hideaway area of Loring Park.

Respond to areas where people are protesting, and keep pride attendees moving along. The point of this role is not to engage the protesters, but to be the calm, happy presence in the face of people who may not be the same. De-escalation training may be helpful in this role but is not required.

Volunteers will occasionally be asked to purchase something with cash and ensure the POS system is being used. This role requires a bit of discretion and covert observation. Escalate / Report vendors to Vendor Management team when a vendor is found not to be in compliance.
