About the event

Juneteenth is the oldest, nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States of America. Two and a half years after the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln delivered the Emancipation Proclamation, where Black people were considered free and delivered from enslavement. Our annual Juneteenth Family Fun Day Festival gathers 5,000+ attendees local to the NYC community to enjoy a vibrant day of rich culture through music, dance, poetry, skits, history, vendors, and family activities for single-family homes, married with children, and extended family.

About the application

Juneteenth NYC has been running for over 14 years and counting. We were organizing large gatherings of educational empowerment entertainment zones before it became popular with the world. Now that Juneteenth has been named a national holiday we would like to build a team of thought provokers who will join me in challenging the status quo, thinking out of the box and maintaining Juneteenth NYC as the leader in organizing a staple event for the city. We are looking for board members who are interested in the following areas: 1. Food Vendor Team 2. Community Partner Team 3. Street Setup and Logistics Team 4. Stage and Entertainment Support team 5. Vendor management team 6. Awards Ceremony Team 7. Sponsorship Team 8. Media Team 9. Marketing Team 10. Volunteer Management Team 11. Kids Games Team 12. Fashion Show Management Team 13. Sound and Music Team 14. Drivers & Runners Team 15. Project Manager Team

Terms & Conditions

This term is for 3 years with the option to renew and return in the same area of focus up to two consecutive years.
