We kindly ask that you review all the information before submitting any questions. If the material is already on the website or in your contract, you will be redirected accordingly. Rules and Information
Artists in the Artist Alley are expected to abide by the guidelines below, as well as all rules of Anime Festival Orlando, and the Wyndham Orlando Resort. We want everyone to have fun, enjoy art, and be safe.Artist Accountability
PLEASE BE AWARE ARTIST ALLEY IS IN AN ALWAYS OPEN PUBLIC SPACE
The Palms Foyer of the Convention Space of Wyndham Orlando Resort is open to the public 24/7. YOU (THE ARTIST) are responsible at the end of the day to remove any valuable materials. Set-Up
Artist may check-in Thursday 3 PM – 8 PM before the convention to get their badges.
You may set up between 3PM-10PM on Thursday & 8AM-12PM on Friday.
Check-In will take place in the rear of the Dealer Room. The Coordinator will be located in the rear left of the hall.Please have a valid form of ID to pick up your badge(s). Advanced notice is required in order to pick up badges for another artist.
Set-Up starts on Thursday at 3:00PM.Please be aware that Artist Alley is in a Public Area. Do not leave anything valuable at your booth. I recommend using something to cover your table up when you are closed. AFO is not responsible for anything happening to your booth during off show hours. Please use this information to make responsible choices.
Since there will be convention attendees roaming the convention space prior to the show opening, we ask that you be ready to conduct business by Friday at noon.
Closing Time is up to you on Friday and Saturday. You may remain open as long as you wish, but no later than 2:00 am. The hotel staff may come by and ask you to close up for the night. Please respect the hotel staff. Remember, anything you leave behind is at your own risk. On Sunday, we ask that you be prepared to finalize your sales by 4:45 PM. Yes, the hotel may ask you to start wrapping up so they can start breaking down the space.Please be kind and clean up your booth space when closing.

While in the Artist Alley all convention, venue, local, state, and federal rules, policies, and laws apply. Convention rules can be found on the AFO website and in your con guide.All artists must show a government-issued, photo ID to check in at the Alley. If an artist is not able to produce a valid ID at check in, their table(s) will be held until noon on Friday, at which point the table(s) will be considered unclaimed and open for sale on a first-come, first-served basis. The artist makes a formal agreement to showcase in AFO Artist Alley upon receipt of payment. It is understood by AFO that, if you are under the age of 18, you have received consent from your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to participate in the AFO Artist Alley. AFO will not refund any payments as a result of any issues that may arise from failure to obtain proper permissions by the artist.Badges

You are allowed to apply for a maximum of one (1) table. You may not bring your own table(s) to supplement this amount.
YOU MAY NOT SHARE YOUR TABLE WITH ANOTHER ARTIST
NO AI “ART” IS ALLOWED. ARTIST ALLEY IS FOR ARTISTS ONLY.
All tables are $250 and include two (2) badges.
Table sizes are approximately 6 feet wide by 2 feet deep and 2 feet 5 inches tall. These dimensions are subject to change.
Two (2) chairs are provided with each table. You may not supplement this amount with your own chair(s).
There may only be two (2) people behind each table at any time. This includes the common spaces behind the tables as well. If you have more than one helper, only one can be behind your table (two people total) at a time. Please be mindful of access ways.
Other tablespaces belong either to another artist, or to AFO. Interference with another table space, chairs, or displays is not allowed, and may subject you to charges, loss of your registered table space, or other action.
No tape, staples, glue, any adhesives, gum, bodily fluids, or tacks on the walls, columns, floor, or ceiling. The use of any display which could cause harm to the venue space is prohibited.
Conduct
The following is an outline of rules to which an artist must adhere while operating within the Alley. AFO reserves the right to institute further restrictions on-site as needs arise.
While in the Alley, all convention rules as well as local, state, and federal laws will apply. If an artist breaks any convention rules, they will be dealt with accordingly. If an artist breaks any laws, they must expect to have to deal with local authorities.
All artists will be required to prominently display their badges when occupying their space.
The artist is not permitted to resell their space, in whole or part, to a second party. The artist may not give away his/her tablespace to another artist. Substance Use
Smoking or use of alcohol or drugs while in the Artist Alley will not be tolerated. Violations will result in removal from The Alley and convention.
Behavior, Noise, Photography
Professionalism is a must; no running, screaming, yelling, obscene language, roughhousing, sparring, etc. Harassment of any sort (sexual, bullying, etc.) is not tolerated at AFO.
If anyone is disrupting you, please seek assistance from the Artist Coordinator or an AFO Staff member at any time.
Loud music, videos, etc. will not be tolerated in the Alley. Artist Alley staff reserves the right to ask that the volume of any loud music or noise be lowered to acceptable levels. Further noise violations can result in the artist being removed from the Artist Alley.
Photography and video recording are permitted within The Alley, provided that the person being recorded has given permission. Similarly, pictures or videos of art are allowed only with permission of the artist.
Refunds & No Shows
Tables are not refundable, and not transferable.
If an artist fails to check in for their table by noon on Friday, they will be considered a No-Show. At that point, No-Show table(s) will be offered for sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
If circumstances arise where you cannot attend the convention or attend your table for the entirety of the convention, you must email us before the Monday before the start of the convention. Dire emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Personal Property/Merchandise & Displays
You are responsible for securing your own personal property and merchandise. Anime Festival Orlando, Inc., AFO Staff, and the Hotel are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items, merchandise, etc.
Any structure brought to display artwork must be of sound construction and may not extend more than 5 feet above the table. All displays must reside within the confines of your area, and may not impede access behind the table or any main access ways of the space. Display space behind your assigned table is subject to availability but not guaranteed. Artwork and Sales
AFO Artist Alley is intended to be a place to showcase your talent, and for the sale of your artwork.What is Considered Fan Art?
Celebrity likeness is considered to be fan art.
Typically defined as artwork that is based on a character, costume, item, or story that was created by someone other than the artist.
The artist bears all responsibility and risk for their items brought for sale at AFO. Any questions regarding this policy will be resolved by the Anime Festival Orlando, in consultation with AFO’s lawyer when needed. If any confusion arises with respect to trademarks or copyrighted work, the artist may be asked to remove it from display and sale at the discretion of the AFO. Examples of acceptable works for sale:
Original two-dimensional art featuring characters of the artist’s original design
Artwork you have created, that is reproduced onto different materials
Commissioned and hand-drawn works
Hand-made items to include jewelry, sculpture, plush toys/dolls, cups, etc.
Self-Published Manga / Graphic Novel(s)
Items limited to buttons, bookmarks, stickers, charms, etc.
Fan art that clearly does not violate rights of any license holders
Examples of items prohibited for sale in the Alley:
Items not owned by the registered artist
Items typically sold in the Dealers’ Room
Any work with copyrighted materials or trademarks, including traces, etc.
Products that can be bought at a store either in Japan or the US
T-shirt presses, soldering irons, fixatives, epoxies, etc.
Majority selling clothing and accessories including but not limited to t-shirts, hats, bags, costumes, etc.
Food, snacks or beverages
Bootleg or Pirated products to include unauthorized productions of video or manga as well as self-printed copies of artwork to which the artist does not have rights.
Legally imported merchandise or legitimate US products. This includes, but is not limited to: wall scrolls, sharpies, art supplies, duct tape, glow sticks etc.
Weapons, real or cosplay props – Props that are a replication of a copyrighted and/or licensed nature.
Adult Material
Anime Festival Orlando is a family-friendly event. Art containing Adult Content is permitted in The Alley, but is subject to additional restrictions. Adult Content is anything that would not legally be permissible to display to minors. Identifying Adult Content will be part of the Portfolio Review process and is at the sole discretion of the AFO. Adult content may only be viewed or purchased by persons 18 years or older.Sexually explicit works must be covered and labeled as Adult Content 18+ If you are wondering if your work will be considered as Adult Content, please ask the Artist Coordinator.Work depicting any extreme violence or murder, etc. will also be subject to review.The artist is responsible for verifying the age of their viewers, by Photo I.D., before they are allowed to view or purchase works containing Adult Content.If the artist sells or displays Adult Content to a minor, the artist will be immediately removed from the Artist Alley and AFO without refund. They may also be held accountable under Orange County, Florida and/or Federal laws.If a commission is requested of the artist that would fall under the Adult Content Rules, the artist must confirm that the person requesting the commission is not a minor. Failure to do so will result in the artist’s immediate removal from the Artist Alley without refund.At Con/Pre Con Commissions
Commissions taken for delivery at the convention, regardless if the commission was taken pre convention for delivery or at the convention for delivery are between the artist and commissioner, AFO is not a party in these dealings. As such AFO and AFO Staff cannot assist you in locating the person with whom you arranged the commission with. Please make sure you get contact information as part of your dealings.
Any Artist accepting commissions requiring a live model during Alley hours must conduct these commissions in a manner which does not disrupt attendees, staff operations or fellow artists. Live models should be placed so as to not interfere with the flow of traffic or the space and operations of other artists.
Giveaways
Raffles, auctions, or other types of giveaway are not permitted.
Application Process
We look forward to reviewing your portfolio. To be considered for the AFO Artist Alley, we ask that you complete the Artist Application. Due to the high volume of inquiries, we cannot guarantee an immediate response to your application. The application process is electronic; therefore AFO is not responsible for technical issues that may cause your application to not be received. Multiple applications will not improve the chances of being accepted. Please DO NOT submit multiple applications.
All fields must be completed and a link to your portfolio must be included in order for your application to be reviewed. If a field does not apply to you please indicate with “N/A”. Any missing information and/or lack of portfolio will cause your application to be rejected. All applications will be reviewed in the order received. Any attempt to reapply will be reviewed in the normal order of receipt and will not be based on your original application submission date.
If your portfolio is approved, you will be contacted with instructions to reserve your table. Tables will be reserved based on when your full payment is received. Partial Payments will not be accepted to reserve a table. NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS ALLOWED
Portfolio Review
The artist’s work will be reviewed by AFO to establish if it follows the Artist Alley guidelines. All work must adhere to the rules as mentioned above. An artist may be accepted, but required to remove certain works that do not fall within the rules.
The artist must provide an example of the table display that they will be using in the Artist Alley. This will be used to assign space placement if the artist is accepted. If an artist has set up in an Artist Alley before, a photograph will provide the simplest example. If the artist is setting up a new display, or has not displayed in an Artist Alley before, a photo or drawing of the proposed display will suffice. The artist may be asked for more detailed explanation or further proof.

Hello All! My name is Laurie and I am your AFO Artist Coordinator this year of AFO! I shadowed and Co-ran AA in 2019 and now this is my second year officially running it on my own. I sell my art full time so you will be pleased to know that this alley is run by an artist herself. I am here for you. I will always advocate for you. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to ask. I have long blue hair so it is easy to spot me. I will be running around the alley all weekend to check in on everyone so please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything. My job this weekend is to ensure things run smoothly.
