About the registration

The film permitting process begins when a completed online application and associated permits are submitted. The ﬁlm review process can take up to ﬁve (5) days; however, depending on the details of your production, the process may take longer. If your film project occurs at a location that contains any of the items listed below, a meeting will be required with the event committee which may add another 5 business days for processing:1) Film prep, filming and clean up lasting more than 3 days.2) Outdoor filming3) Full and/or partial lane/street closures4) Requested variances to any City of Alpharetta Ordinance One film permit can cover up to three film sites over the course of two weeks. Fees will only be taken once the permit is approved. Please note that contact information provided in this application will be shared with the Alpharetta Convention & Visitors Bureau to assist with cast or crew accommodations.

Terms & Conditions

As an applicant, you are required to comply with all city, county, state, and federal disability access requirements. All temporary venues, related structures and outdoor sites shall be accessible to persons with disabilities. Additionally, appropriate signage and notifications must be posted and distributed for the public or neighboring parties impacted by your production. Approval of your application does not automatically reserve city resources or staff. It is your responsibility to contact and reserve city resources and staff found through the city's website - www.alpharetta.ga.us. Possible reasons for application permit denial include but are not limited to: The event will disrupt trafï¬c within the city beyond practical solution; event will unreasonably interfere with access of ï¬re ï¬ghting equipment and ï¬re hydrants; location of the event will cause extreme hardship to adjacent businesses or residents; Event will require the diversion of enough city employees that allowing the event would unreasonably deny service to the remainder of the city residents. This includes City Holidays; Application, permits and application fees were not properly submitted; failure to contact each city department to reserve city resources and stafï¬ng. Afï¬davit of Applicant: I certify that the information contained in the foregoing application is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief that I have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the rules and regulations governing the proposed special event and/or ï¬lm production under the City of Alpharetta Municipal Code. I understand that this application is made subject to the rules and regulations established by the City Council and/or the City Administrator or the City Administrator's designee. I agree and comply with all the rules and regulations in the City of Alpharetta Special Events Application. I agree to comply with all other requirements of the city, county, state, federal government, and any other applicable entity which may pertain to the use of the event venue and the conduct of the event. In the event that a possessory interest subject to property taxation is created by virtue of this use permit, I agree to pay all possessory interest taxes and the City shall not be liable for the payment of such taxes I further agree that the payment of any such taxes shall not reduce any consideration paid to the City pursuant to this use permit. I agree to abide by these rules, and further certify that I, on behalf of the Organization, am also authorized to commit that Organization, and therefore agree to be ï¬nancially responsible for any costs and fees that may be incurred by or on behalf of the event to the City of Alpharetta.

For projects taking place on public property, you must provide a COI naming The City of Alpharetta (2 Park Plaza) as an additional insured. The city requires an insurance policy rider for general liability for $1,000,000. (If you don't have the document at this time, you can provide this at a later date, no later than a week prior to the film date)
