About the event

The North Carolina Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum and the rich fossil record of North Carolina. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and good old-fashioned southern charm. Activities include digging for fossils, fossil displays, silent & live auction, displays by partner nonprofit organizations, movie night, parade, live entertainment, food & craft vendors, Saturday night glow party, Dinosaur show, and much, much more!

Food Vendor spaces are designated for non-profits who will be preparing food on-site and selling to patrons/festival-goers.

Terms & Conditions

Please read all the information below before beginning your application. As a vendor, you are responsible for understanding all terms and conditions. By submitting your application, you agree to all North Carolina Fossil Festival Terms and Conditions.
 
All vendors are personally responsible for the collection, reporting, and remittance of sales tax as required by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. The North Carolina Fossil Festival assumes no responsibility regarding the collection, reporting and/or remittance of sales tax for sales by vendors.
 
-- Vendors must provide their own table(s), chair(s), and set-ups.
-- Food Vendor spaces are designated for those who will be preparing food on-site and selling to patrons/festival-goers.
-- Food Vendors should be prepared to serve a high volume of people.
-- Soft drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages may be sold by food vendors.
-- Food Vendors must abide by NC Health guidelines and will be inspected prior to opening. For more information contact the Beaufort County Health Department at 252-946-1902.
-- Food Vendors are subject to Fire Marshall regulations.
-- Food Vendors must keep their area free of grease splashes, spills, and/or any grease containers. Grease disposal and clean-up is the responsibility of the Food Vendor.
-- Food Vendors must keep their area free of trash or any other items on the ground. Trash must be disposed of properly in the appropriate trash cans.
 
All tents and coverings must be weighted to prevent becoming airborne in the event of windy conditions. Cylinder/sleeve weights or water canisters are preferred. No stakes may be driven into asphalt or hard paved surfaces. All tents, coverings, and booth areas will be inspected for safety before the event’s opening.
 
-- As a vendor for the North Carolina Fossil Festival, prices will not be set.
-- A $10.00 non-refundable application fee is required.
-- Applying does not guarantee acceptance into the festival.
-- Only applications submitted through this webpage will be accepted.
-- Applications received by mail or email will automatically be rejected.
-- A committee selects applicants by vendor application only.
-- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
-- Applications missing photos will not be considered.
-- Vendors are required to provide an NC Department of Revenue Sales & Use Tax ID Number.
-- Applications are due by 6 pm EST on April 22, 2022.
-- Vendors will be notified via email of the decision.
-- Once approved, vendors will automatically be charged for the total vendor fee and an approval email will be sent.
 
By submitting this application, I agree to hold the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the Fossil Festival Committee harmless for any injury or loss to any person, equipment, property, or goods for any cause whatsoever. I also agree that the stated organizations cannot be held responsible for any claims for damage, injury or loss arising out of or in connection with the use of the space or grounds during the North Carolina Fossil Festival, in Aurora.

Prices

Application fee $10 Non-refundable There is a $10 non-refundable application fee which is charged upon application submission. This application fee will be deducted from the vendor fee for vendors approved to participate.
Local Non-Profit Food 10'x10' space (canopy or pushcart) $150 Non-refundable This $150 booth fee will secure your 10'x10' space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged on approval of your application. Booth fee is for TWO days of vending. Your $10 application fee will be deducted from the booth fee for vendors approved to participate in the event.
Local Non-Profit Food Truck/Trailer Under 20 feet $250 Non-refundable This $250 booth fee will secure your space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged on approval of your application. Booth fee is for TWO days of vending. Your $10 application fee will be deducted from the booth fee for vendors approved to participate in the event.
