Terms for the KCI Expo Center are as follows:

- NO LOADING OR UNLOADING THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS OF THE BUILDING. Parking at the 

dock is permitted for loading and unloading only. All other parking is prohibited. Violators will be towed at 

their own expense. No parking in the Fire Lanes.

- Holes may not be drilled, cored or punched in the building.

- Helium filled balloons will be permitted in the building.

Helium tanks must be secured by chains to something 

solid, and you assume written responsibility for removal of same. A removal fee of $10.00 per balloon will be 

charged for all balloons left in the ceiling area after your event. 

- No adhesive backed decals or similar items may be distributed or used in the building. 

- Decorations, signs, banners, etc.; may not be taped, nailed, tacked, staples or otherwise fastened to ceilings, 

walls, doors, painted surfaces or columns. Please ask the Manager to the proper procedures for hanging 

decorations, etc. 

- No carts, hand trucks, etc. with hard wheels are permitted on carpeted surfaces. 

- Non “service assistance” animals are permitted in the building only with the prior approval of the Manager. 

- Combustion engines may not be operated on the Exhibit Floor or in lobby areas.

- Any vehicles on the show floor must have battery cables disconnected and have no more than one (1) 

gallon of gasoline in the tank. All gas caps must be taped. All parked vehicles must have plastic placed 

under the vehicle due to oil and grease protection. 

- Propane tanks may not exceed 205 pounds LPG capacity and must have a 2A10BC extinguisher and 

require Fire Marshall’s approval. 

- All draping material, etc. must be flame retardant. 

- Dirt, sand, mulch or any other landscaping products may not, for any reason, be shoveled onto or 

otherwise be placed directly on the concrete floor of the exhibition hall. Protective plastic must be used 

underneath all such products at all times, and in all locations. All planting, fountains, etc. must have water 

proof plastic material underneath. 

- No paint, tape or tape residue should remain on show floor after move out is completed. 

- All displays and demonstrations involving flammable, combustible liquid must be approved by the Kansas 

City, MO Fire Marshall's Office.

- Objects cannot be placed against outer walls, i.e. tables.

- Painting of materials, objects, etc., is not allowed. 

- Do not cover up or in any way hide wall mounted Fire Extinguishers and Standpipes 

- Do not to turn wheels of vehicles unless said vehicle is moving to avoid unnecessary tire marks 

on the floor. 

- During tear down notify maintenance if you need to dispose of food items. 

- Electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician approved by the Manager. No electrical 

cords may pass through Egress areas. 

- No combustible material, i.e., hay, straw, excelsior, corn shucks, firewood will be allowed in the building 

without approved prior treatment and permission. 

- No structure shall be constructed or brought into the exhibition hall with an enclosed roof area of 100 

square feet or greater. 

- ALL EMERGENCY FIRE EXITS must be free of obstructions permitting a free Egress at all times in case of 

emergency 

- Pursuant to K.C. MO Ordinance the entire facility is a SMOKE FREE establishment. Smoking is not 

permitted on the premises.
