INTRODUCTION
Welcome to 4th Friday! What is the 4th Friday event? On the 4th Friday of every month, March - October, The District features the best of Fayetteville visual and performing arts, live music, and street performers. Folks of all ages get a taste of Downtown Fayetteville's dynamic arts and entertainment district while supporting local independent galleries, bistros, and shops full of unique goods and gifts. From July through October, we turn up the heat with The District Vibe at 4th Friday. A live performance stage and beer garden invites visitors to make the most of the glorious North Carolina weather and dance the night away!
READ BEFORE YOU APPLY
Applications need to be submitted before the 10th of the month to be considered for that month’s 4thFriday event. Browse through our applications and let us know if you have any questions. This is an electronic agreement and by selecting the booths, you are validating and approving this agreement electronically. The Cool Spring Downtown District has the right to refuse entry to any vendor for the 4th Friday event.
ARTIST APPLICATION
Categories: Artists may apply in up to 3 categories. You must submit a separate application for each category. If you sell jewelry, you may apply in a category other than Jewelry if jewelry is less than 10% of your items for sale. Otherwise, you must apply in Jewelry. All work displayed in the booth must be for sale.
Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.
Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted.
Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted.
Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. Items made from commercial parts may not be exhibited.
Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.
Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece. Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.
Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.
Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material is acceptable.
Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered.
Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.
Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting, and digital works. Reproduction prints are not allowed.
Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.
VENDOR SPACE
Booth Space: We will provide a 10x10 space for your setup.
Tent: You are allowed to bring a 10x10 tent. We will not permit tents over 10x10 feet.
Amplified Sound/Electricity: We will not provide electricity. You are required to use your own amplification system for your space.
PARKING
We now have paid parking for Downtown Fayetteville. We suggest that you park in the Franklin Street parking deck (208 Franklin Street) so you will not have to worry about moving your car. On-street parking will not be available in all areas due to the Road Closures. On-Street Parking will be limited but the closest parking spots to your location are:
- Franklin Street: 100-300 Hay Street, Gillespie Street Locations
- Old Street: 100-300 Hay Street locations and Person St
- Bow St: 100 Hay St, Person Street, Green Street Locations
- Maiden Lane: All locations
- Franklin Street Parking Deck: All Locations
EVENT DETAILS:
Set Up: Set up begins from 5pm-6pm on the event day. There will be a cone placed at your location with your business name on it. You do not need to check-in at the Cool Spring Downtown District Staff before the event. If you are lost or unsure about your location, please contact the Cool Spring Downtown District Staff.
Break Down: The break down for 4th Friday is from 9pm - 9:30pm that night. We ask that you do not break down before 9pm.Breaking down of booths early is not allowed. (Breaking down early will disqualify you from future events.)
Booth Space: Vendors will provide a 10x10 space for your setup (Anchors may NOT be driven into the street. Adequate weights are mandatory to secure tents and must be within your booth space.). Tents can’t exceed over 10x10 feet If your structure is not self-contained, All vendor set-ups must be professional in appearance. you must construct a well-decorated booth, erect a personally owned tent, or rent a tent. No booth space sharing allowed between multiple vendors. Vendors are responsible for collecting and reporting their own taxes. Booths may not be moved without permission from the Cool Spring Downtown District staff. Vendors cannot sublet, assign, donate or trade your space.
Assigned Locations: Cool Spring Downtown District (CSDD) may, from time to time, be required to reassign locations. CSDD does not provide tables, chairs, tents, or other equipment. Please contact the CSDD office in writing (info@coolspringfay.org) if you have any special requirements.
AMPLIFIED SOUND AND ELECTRICITY
We will not provide electricity. You are required to use your own amplification system for your space.
