Event Description

The DCA Gala: A Night of Art & Philanthropy is both an in-person and online auction event celebrating Minnesota artists! Anyone is welcome to participate in the online auction between 8:00am - 8:00pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025. 

For the in-person, formal gala and live auction on Saturday, October 18, 2025, attendees must purchase a ticket. Admission includes dinner, a live art auction, a silent auction, and more! The in-person gala also provides the opportunity for guests to meet the artists whose work is featured as part of this event.

Selection Process

Up to 30 artists will be selected for a juried show with the auction taking place both in-person and online. Artists' work will be on display either in-person or online beginning August 28, 2025. As only about 15 works will fit in the space, those that are selected for the in-person gallery will be determined by the Board based upon dimensions and fit within the space. All other works will be available and displayed online. 

The jury will include 4 artists with expertise in different mediums to ensure a wide range of experience, knowledge, and understanding of multiple art-making processes.

Artist Benefits

Artists selected for the show will receive 30% of the auction sale of their work and one free ticket to the gala. This exclusive event will be heavily marketed on all platforms with a focus on supporting the artist and helping to expand their network. Only 100 tickets are available for purchase by the public.

For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I agree to release, hold harmless, defend and indemnify Dakota Center for the Arts, Valleywood Golf Course, and the City of Apple Valley, their directors, officers, employees, agents and affiliates, from any and all loss, damage, liability, cost or expense that Dakota Center for the Arts, Valleywood Golf Course, or the City of Apple Valley may incur or suffer as a result of any claim of any kind whatsoever arising out of my participation in the Event.

I acknowledge that submitting this application indicates that I have read and agree with the conditions of entry, exhibition, and auction as outlined in this application. Pending the acceptance of my artwork, the submission of this application also means that I agree to make my work available to Dakota Center to the Arts and Valleywood Golf Course if it is selected for exhibition and auction. If my work does not sell, it will be returned to me within two weeks following the gala on Saturday, October 18, 2025. I acknowledge and understand that neither Dakota Center for the Arts nor Valleywood Golf Course are responsible for insuring the work accepted into the exhibition and auction, and, if damaged, will be returned to me in that condition. 

I agree to allow the Dakota Center for the Arts the right to photograph me and/or my work during the course of the event, and to use those photographs for promotional purposes at the discretion of Dakota Center for the Arts, Valleywood Golf Course, and the City of Apple Valley. I hereby represent and warrant that I have read these Terms & Conditions in entirety and fully understand its contents. In submitting this application, I agree voluntarily and of my own free will to these Terms & Conditions. I hereby certify that the artwork submitted for this exhibition and auction is original, hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind design made by me, and I accept the Rules and Regulations regarding participation in the 2025 DCA Gala: A Night of Art & Philanthropy.
