Everyone relates to animals, whether it's a beloved pet, the mesmerizing movement of fish in an aquarium, or cheerful, singing birds.
 
Animals either wild or domestic are often portrayed in paintings as supporting characters, for example in Frida Kahlo's Self Portrait with Monkeys, or perhaps, the main subject as in Henry Matisse's, The Goldfish and one of the most famous bird paintings ever Carel Fabritius’s The Goldfinch.

The exhibition is from July 31 to August 18 2024. The deadline for submissions is July 14.

Application fees C$ 50 (+ tax and fees) Non-refundable There is a $50 + HST, $56.50 total non-refundable application fee which is charged upon application. MEMBER DISCOUNT*: Artists' Network Members can save $15 by using discount code: MEMBER15 This will reduce your application fee by $15 and you will pay $35.00 + HST = $39.55 *Discount code must be used at time of submission As this is a juried show, not all submissions will be accepted.

Picture requirements

  • Minimum pictures required: 1
  • IMPORTANT! Please be sure you ADD INFO for each image. Failure to do so may result in a forfeited submission. Please note the following: - The maximum number of artworks submitted should be between ONE to THREE artworks. We will not jury more than three artworks in a submission. - Photos of your artwork MUST be high quality and properly cropped without frame, in order to be considered and included in the online gallery. - If your artwork is framed, please add additional supporting images to show how each artwork will be displayed when framed. - "Category" is the medium (i.e. acrylic, oil, mixed media, clay, glass, ink). Only indicate a couple key materials used, if absolutely relevant. - All prices should be in Canadian dollar (CAD). - "Brief Description" is an opportunity to provide specific information on the specified artwork in your submissions to further inform jurors. - Dimensions should be in INCHES as Height x Width x Depth, in this specific order. If your artwork is framed, please clearly indicate the outside dimensions of BOTH the artwork and the frame. - Review all image instructions & suggestions for successful submissions at LeslieGroveGallery.ca under "Submissions", "Group Shows".
