1. A fee of $10.00 will be payable for each exhibit entered that is within the maximum dimensions of 24 inches (either length or width) including framing. Sculptures require a plinth.
2. Any exhibit of greater dimension or sculptures without a plinth will commence at a fee of $20.00.
3. Photographic material/digital prints are not accepted.
4. All exhibits must be the original work of the Exhibitor and available for sale.
5. Paintings and drawings must be framed and provided with picture wire and D-rings firmly attached; approximately a third from the top on either side. Unframed stretched canvas is acceptable if the canvas has a minimum 1-inch depth and canvas sides are finished or painted. All entries must be able to be hung. Any artwork submitted without correct hanging finishing will not be displayed for the event.
6. Note: The show may refuse to hang an entry if the framing is unsuitable or unsafe. This is both to protect our set up team and to prevent your artwork from being damaged if it falls off the display case. Works are hung from hooks in the stands - if your work has no picture wire, or it cannot take the weight, we literally cannot hang your work.
7. Artists may enter as many exhibits as per the guidelines, but quantity, location and display of exhibits will be at the discretion of the MHOA.
8. All care but no responsibility will be taken for loss or damage of any work. Exhibitors are advised to insure their entries against damage or loss.
9. Exhibits will be displayed at the organizer’s discretion. The set-up team reserves the right not to hang any paintings & no discussion, verbally or in writing, will be entered into. All works entered will be judged, but not necessarily hung. In the event that the number of entries exceeds the space available, entries will be selected for hanging by the judge.
10. No refund on entry fees will be given for exhibits not presented.
11. Art pieces are to be clearly marked with title, medium, exhibitor’s name, address and sale price on the back.
12. A commission of 10% will be charged for each sale and contributes to the cost and prizes of the Art Exhibit. Sales will not be subject to GST. It is assumed the sale price includes GST and the 10% commission will be applied to sale price less the GST.
13. Artwork may be delivered to the Mahogany Beach Club, 29 Masters Park SE, Calgary starting on Monday, April 29 at 9am and no later than noon on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
14. Prizes for People's Choice Awards: $500 for 1st, $250 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd
