Rules & Regulations- Artists agree to comply with all Valley Junction Arts Festival guidelines set forth in this application and all local, state and federal rules.
- Artists must meet all state & local license, tax permit, and Insurance requirements.
- Participating artists must be present to personally represent their work for the duration of the festival. Representatives may not attend in place of the artist.
- Exhibited art must be original, handcrafted work; no more than 50% can be reproductions. Prints and reproductions must be labeled as such.
- Commercial, mass-produced, or manufactured work, imports, and resale items are not allowed.
- Collaborators, or individuals who participate in the creative process should be listed as co-creators or second artists on booth signs and other collateral.
- Artists are responsible for obtaining and submitting appropriate sales tax license info and respective payments to the State of Iowa in a timely manner.
- The Valley Junction Arts Festival committee and staff reserve the right to make decisions regarding the best interests of the event relating to, but not limited to artist selections, booth assignments, artist booth operations and methods.
- Artists must leave their exhibit space clean after load-out. Pack out any trash you create during the event. The trash cans on the sidewalk are reserved for attendees only. If your space is not clean after an event, you may be expelled from future shows.
- The non-refundable $20 jury must be paid at the time of applying.
- All artists must also provide liability insurance coverage for the show.
Refunds & CancellationsCancellation requests must be made in writing by e-mail to events@valleyjunction.com. A full refund of the booth fee will be given if notification is received by Sunday, April 28, 2024. No refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received after April 28. The $20 application fee is non-refundable. No exceptions.
By renting a space from Historic Valley Junction Foundation (HVJF), all artists agree not to: 1) Hold HVJF, its members, staff, or board of directors responsible for damage of any kind. Artists assume all responsibility for the operation of their booth, and any damages or injuries that may occur in that area during normal event hours or from consumption of products or goods. This includes all lawsuits, demands and claims including court costs, legal fees, and damages. Vendors are also responsible for any loss or damages HVJF may incur on their behalf including, but not limited to court costs and attorney fees. All merchandise will be handled and displayed at the artist's risk and HVJF assumes no responsibility for theft, accident or natural disaster. The undersigned agrees to indemnity and hold the sponsors of HVJF events harmless in regard to all liability for any damages to personal property, for any loss of life or personal injury or theft of property that may be sustained in connection with this event. I further give approval for HVJF to use photographs submitted for or taken at this event, which might include my work, for publicity purposes. 2) follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic as well as local rules and regulations.
