This is for one entry into the NH Sheep and Wool Festival for One Day. Ticket may be used on Either Saturday or Sunday. Two tickets are needed for entry both days.

9:45 – 12:30 Felted Glass Case: Sheri Bulluck. Learn how to use water, soap and friction to turn loose wool and silk fibers into a fun little pouch. You can use it for your glasses, phone or anything you want. Once you take it home, you may even decide to add straps and make it into a small crossbody bag. It started with yarn, moved to fabrics and then, when she discovered needle felting in 2014, she added wool to her “collection” of fibers. She opened her own studio, A Fiber in the Woods, where she teaches felting and watercolor to adults and children.

9:45 – 12:30 Peg Loom Weaving: Sharon Haumann. Peg loom weaving technique, allows you to create fiber art in a freer way than other forms of weaving and dates back to the 16th century. In this workshop, you will be supplied with a small peg loom and supplies to learn the technique from start to finish for a “hot” pan rug Materials to bring: nothing Material fees paid to the instructor: $0 fee / includes supplies Class cost: $40.00 Class date: May 10, 2025 Class size: 12 Minimum age requirement: all ages Instructor Bio: Sharon Haumann has been raising sheep on a small family farm for the last forty-five years. Her interests lie in all fiber arts with a concentration in needle-felted sculptures, and Peg loom weaving. Her sculptures and wool paintings have been exhibited in galleries and have won a number of awards.

1 – 3:45 Tea Towel Weaving: Amanda Posner. Come make your own tea towel on a loom. The looms are warped and ready to go. Experience: none needed Materials to bring: nothing Material fees paid to the instructor: $25 fee / includes supplies Class cost: $40.00 Class date: May 10, 2025 Class size: 7 Minimum age requirement: Adults and Young Adults (12 +), Ages 12-15 are welcome but either must be accompanied by a paid adult taking the class on a separate loom or with an adult monitoring the student. Students in this age group may not be dropped off and left unattended. Instructor bio: Amanda Posner is the founder and instructor at Crow’s Corner. She developed a life-long love of weaving in the 80s, when she started studying textiles at Cambridge School of Weston. She has also studied weaving at Harrisville Designs, Inc. and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). In 2023, she taught two introductory weaving courses at Scratch Supply Co. in Lebanon, NH. classes at her studio are for beginners with no experience or for those interested in moving up to multiple harness loom from ridge heddle looms and designed for those interested in learning the process of designing and warping a loom start to finish.

1 – 3:45 Jellyfish Knitted Scarf: Ruth Boisvert. The Jellyfish Knitted Scarf is the coolest beginner project. Using beautiful SUPER BULKY WOOL and the GARTER stitch, we’ll whip this project up during the class. Additional information: MUST know how to cast on and knit 20 rows Materials to bring: size 13 knitting needles (also available to borrow or buy for $7), scissors, and crochet hook the larger the better. Material fees paid to the instructor: $30 fee (for required wool Rasta by Malabrigo) Class cost: $40.00 Class date: May 10, 2025 Class size: 15 Minimum age requirement: adults and 14+ Instructor bio: Ruth has an BFA from the School for American Craftsmen in Rochester, New York. After moving to Maine, her career took a detour into the corporate world, but she continued to study ceramics and fiber art at the Maine College of Art. Ruth’s fiber art and pottery have been marketed in many shows and in Gallery 302 in Bridgton, Maine for years. Ruth has been busy teaching felting in Portland, Gallery 302, and fiber festivals throughout New England.

9:45 – 12:30 Spinner’s Tune Up: Donna Kay. Feel a little rusty or lost confidence in your spinning? Refresh your skills! Start with learning how to adjust your wheel for the best spinning experience, and move on to a review of drafting techniques with a goal of spinning a consistent, easy-to-reproduce yarn no matter what fiber you are spinning. We will end by plying your singles into a well-balanced yarn. Instructor provides: all spinning fiber, folder, handouts. Additional info: can spin yarn without assistance, must have some spinning experience. Materials to bring: Please bring a wheel in good working condition, 3 bobbins, lazy kate, niddy noddy, pen or pencil for notes. 9:45 – 12:30 Needle Felted Ball Ornament: Statia Nesin. Great for needle felting beginners. Learn how to create a ball ornament completely out of wool with a design good for any season. Flowers, animals or a crazy design, the possibilities are endless. I have been needle felting since 2019. I work with many different types of wool to achieve different textures and color blends. I use local farms for the bulk of my materials. I started felting when painting became more difficult once I had kids. I can stop and start with wool much easier than with paint and I just vacuum up the fuzzies when I’m done. So easy!! I have always loved animals, real or fantasy. I love seeing them come to life as I sculpt them out of wool. It has been a long road of experimenting, learning, and reaching out to the other artists to figure out the best way of doing things. I am always learning and discovering. I have worked with several local libraries, farmer’s markets, and organizations doing small workshops. Teaching is fun!! Teaching felting is more fun!!”

1 – 3:45 The Basics of Fiber Combing: Chris Majauckas. Learn how to Comb instead of Card a fleece for a very different fiber experience. Learn the differences between combing and carding and give it a try to see how you like it. If you have combs or fiber, bring them with you. Combs and fiber will also be provided.
