Day long workshop with Award Winning Plein Air Artist Denny Dowdy,
After attending the Colorado Institute of Art, Dennis freelanced doing Pen & Ink illustration for Coca Cola. He started painting seriously in 2008 choosing watercolor because of the versatile creativity that medium offers. When he discovered En Plein Air competitions in 2015 he knew he had found his ‘community’.He now competes in about 15 Plein Air competitions a year. "I’ve designed my workshops to be fun as well as informative for beginners to advanced watercolorists. We will focus on drawing and composition as well as various watercolor techniques."
Supplies you will need:
· Your own brushes and paint: brushes 1 mop #3 or #4, 3 rounds #6, #10 & #14. Paint, what you currently use.
· Water container
· Board (to paint on), bigger than your paper
· 1” masking tape
Small spritzer bottle
· Quality sheets of watercolor paper quartered to approximately 11” x 15” (at least 4 sheets)
You will complete at least two paintings on the day of the workshop.
