"Soulful Feelin'" is a celebration of local, and Southern folk artists and their invaluable contributions to the visual arts in our community.
Kindly presented by Akbar Thomas Law Firm.
In collaboration with the John G. Riley Center & Museum, this exhibition pays tribute to the enduring legacy of folk art ("outsider" or "make-do" art) as a universal form of expression. We honor the ingenuity, authenticity, and shared humanity that connect artists from all walks of life. The exhibit features works by renowned artists such as O.L. Samuels, Thornton Dial, Sr., The Florida Highwaymen, and Mary Proctor, showcasing the rich tapestry of our artistic heritage.
This call to artists is open to all mediums. As we pay homage to the past, "Soulful Feelin'" also embraces contemporary voices that continue to breathe life into this timeless tradition. We invite you to be a part of this community exploration of artistry, where folk artists captivate, inspire, and enlighten. It's an opportunity to transcend borders and appreciate the remarkable artistry that unites us all.
