Food vendors may sell Asparagus infused food items, however they must be approved by our committee. Prohibited ASPARAGUS ITEMS which are sold solely through the festival: DEEP FRIED ASPARAGUS, BACON WRAPPED ASPARAGUS OR ASPARAGUS ICE CREAM.

Prepackaged food only - NO cooking or food preparation on site.

Commercial Vendors are any businesses providing goods or services whose normal business involves the sale, rental, lease or provision of those goods or services.

Small Business Vendors are classified as businesses with 6 or less total employees in their company. Most small business vendors buy and resell goods (not 100% handcrafted like and Arts & Crafts vendor) or generate leads for future services.

Non-profits need to provide their 501c3 determination letter to be approved for a Non-Profit vendor space.

Arts & Craft Vendors are classified as businesses that sell all items that are 100% hand crafted.
Home Based Direct Selling Vendors are considered vendors who work from home as a sales person for companies like Scentsy, Avon, Tupperware, etc.

Dear Pageant Contestants,

WELCOME! We are excited to invite you to participate in the annual San Joaquin Asparagus Festival Scholarship Pageant. You have the exciting opportunity to be the one of the five "Queens of the Festival" and represent one of the most prestigious community events in the Central Valley region, the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival, which will be held April 11 - April 13 at the San Joaquin Country Fairgrounds in Stockton, Ca 

Basic Info: (please refer to Terms & Conditions below for complete rules)
1. Residency: Open to legal residents of California.

2. Age Divisions: Your age and marital status as of April 1st determines your age division as follows:
◦ Miss Division for ages 16−21 (unmarried, without children)

3. Areas of Competition:
◦ 45% On-Stage Interview
◦ 30% Talent
◦ 25% Formal Wear

4. Prizes:
◦ All Contestants: will be featured in a fun show LIVE on stage during the festival and receive three complimentary passes valid for the entire 3−day run of the festival. (Note for contestants under 18, one guest MUST be parent/ guardian)
◦ Royal Court: One winner from the division will be awarded queen title and receive a custom sash and crown; additionally:
▪ Miss San Joaquin Asparagus Festival 2025 will earn $1,000 cash scholarship
◦ The 1st Runner-up (2nd Place) from each age division will be announced on stage and receive a certificate of commendation. If any age division has max number of entries, then a 2nd Runner-up (3rd Place) will also be announced.
◦ Special Awards:
▪ Congeniality Award - selected by the contestants; awarded to individual from all age divisions combined and has no bearing on the outcome of the competition. Also invited to serve on Royal Court.
▪ Spirit Award - selected by the directors and festival staf based upon participation and display of character; awarded to individual from all age divisions combined and has no bearing on overall outcome of competition. Also invited to serve on Royal Court.
▪ Sunshine Award - special recognition for all of our diferently-abled contestants
▪ Photogenic Award - selected by judges from contestant-submitted photos; awarded to contestant in each age division; no bearing on overall outcome of competition

Dear Future Garlic Prince & Princesses (and parents),

WELCOME! We are excited to invite you to participate in the annual San Joaquin Asparagus Festival Prince & Princess Program! You have the exciting opportunity to be a part of one of the most exciting community events in the Central Valley! The annual San Joaquin Asparagus Festival will be held April 11 - 13, 2025 at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton, Ca. 

NEW FOR 2025 - Due to popular demand, we have added Prince and Mini Mr. divisions so that young boys ages 11 & under can also participate!

This is a RECREATIONAL EVENT ONLY! It is NOT a competitive pageant! Every boy and girl entered will be featured in the special Prince & Princess Show and everyone will receive special royal regalia LIVE on-stage during the festival by our newly crowned Garlic Festival Queens!

Our program values are Integrity, Respect and Kindness! We seek to promote community pride and appreciation of local agriculture while giving our youth new and exciting leadership & development opportunities.
This is a great chance for children of any ability or experience level who would like to try and see what a positive experience pageants can be! (Yes, Even boys can do pageants!)

◦ Prince & Princess Division for boys and girls ages 8 & under

◦ Fun-Fashion Runway ("Green & Gold" cowboy or cowgirl western wear theme)
◦ On-Stage Question

4. Prizes:
◦ All Participants: will be featured in a special show LIVE on stage during the festival and receive three complimentary festival passes. These passes are valid for free entry for the entire run of the 3−day festival!
◦ All Boys will receive a custom medallion!
◦ All Girls will receive a custom sash & tiara!
◦ NEW Special Award:
▪ Photogenic Award - special recognition for one boy and one girl in each age division; selected by panel of judges using the headshot photo you will submit with your Program Bio.!
