About the event
The Cornell Art Museum is calling women artists for “Mirror, Mirror: Celebrating Women in the Arts", an all-female exhibition celebrating the International Women's Month of March. This is a contemporary group exhibition of regional artists celebrating through their art, universal reflections of womenhood and their experiences. Artists are invited to bring creative expressions of their world and identity, drawing inspiration from complex facets of their lives and their environment. Throughout their lives, women artists are faced with challenges and their perspectives are altered and tested. This exhibition strives to select approximately 40 works that reflect or “mirror” these unique female narratives about these issues and experiences. Here are the details: * Exhibition Dates: March 14, 2025 through June 22, 2025 * Curated by Marusca Gatto, Cultural Arts Director * Juried by Louise Irvine, Executive Director of WMODA ~ Weiner Museum of Decorative Arts in Hollywood, Florida * Art Intake is Sunday, March 9, 2025 - Between 10am and 2pm * Art Pick Up is Monday, June 23, 2025 - Between 10am and 2pm * Exhibition opens Friday, March 14, 2025 (6pm to 9pm) - Live music and refreshments, meet and greet artists * Exhibition will be installed in the lower level of the Cornell and on view through June 22, 2025 * Special events, art talks and art demonstrations by regional artists are planned * Applications must be submitted by February 21, 2025. * Artists will be notified of acceptance by February 25. * Fee of $30 per artist is due at the time of application submittal to help defray costs * Recognition for 1st , 2nd and 3rd Place prizes will be awarded as well as Honorable Mention Award * Artists may submit two (2) works of art only per person * Application must include high-resolution images * Artist gives permission for images to be used by the Cornell Art Museum for exhibition promotions * Must include a brief artist statement explaining the connection of your work to the reflections theme Submissions of artwork mediums are encouraged, including: painting, sculpture, glass, wood, photography, works on paper, installations, digital art and video, crafts and textiles. The Cornell Art Museum is calling women artists for Mirror, Mirror Exhibition, its newest all Women's group exhibition in honor of International Women's Month in March!

 

Here are the details:

  • Curated by Marusca Gatto, Cultural Arts Director, Cornell Art Museum
  • The exhibition will be Judged by Louise Irvine, Executive Director of  WMODA ~ Weiner Museum of Decorative Arts in Hollywood, Florida  with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
  • Exhibition opens March 14, 2025 (6pm to 9pm) - Live music and refreshments, meet and greet artists * Exhibition will be installed in the lower level of the Cornell and on view through June 22, 2025
  • Special events, art talks and art demonstrations are planned at Cornell Art Museum
  • Applications must be submitted by  DEADLINE February 21, 2025.
  • Artists may submit two (2) works of art for consideration
  • Application must include high-resolution images
  • Must include sizes of artwork
  • Must include a brief artist statement 
  • Submissions of artworks in various mediums are encouraged.
  • Fee of $30 per artist is due at the time of application submittal to help defray costs
