About the event
Hosted by the North Gwinnett High School Jazz Program in coordination with the City of Sugar Hill, The NGJF is a showcase for local and regional educational jazz groups to perform for audiences and build community with each other. During the festival, 12 different ensembles will have the opportunity to perform for each other and the community and receive professional recordings, while also networking with other schools, local and regional colleges, and vendors. The festival will be a great time for the entire city, and is open to everyone to come enjoy fantastic jazz music! Be sure to stay all day, as there will be food trucks, craft vendors, and fun for the whole family. There will also be a featured guest ensemble - the professional Atlanta Lab Band, performing the Georgia premiere of a Grammy © nominated work.

North Gwinnett Big Band
The North Gwinnett Big Band stands as the foremost Jazz Ensemble at North Gwinnett High School, located in Suwanee, GA. The vibrant band program at North Gwinnett encompasses four concert bands, two jazz ensembles, the renowned Bulldog Marching Band, three winterguards, and an indoor drumline. Operating on a traditional 7-period schedule with each instructional session spanning 48 minutes, the school fosters a conducive environment for musical excellence. The North Gwinnett Big Band convenes twice a week after school, dedicating a total of 4 hours to rehearsal, while Jazz II rehearses once a week for an hour and a half. Known for its exceptional prowess, the North Gwinnett Big Band has earned its position as a premier jazz ensemble in the region. Restarted in 2021, the Big Band swiftly ascended to prominence, captivating audiences with its musicianship and electrifying performances. The curriculum prioritizes versatility, embracing a diverse repertoire across various styles. The Big Band actively engages with the community, frequently performing at both local stages and esteemed regional festivals. Notable appearances include the Essentially Ellington Regional Festival at Tennessee State University in 2023 and as distinguished guest ensemble performance at the Schwob School of Music, Columbus State University.
