Calling All Musicians!

Join us for the award-winning Mountain Makins Festival, a beloved folk life celebration held at the historic Rose Center in Morristown, TN. This immersive weekend festival pays tribute to the rich traditions of Appalachian culture while embracing the artistry of modern interpretations.

More than just a fine art and craft show, Mountain Makins is alive with the sound of music! Festivalgoers can enjoy two stages of dynamic, foot-stomping performances, creating an unforgettable experience filled with energy, heritage, and community spirit.

We are currently seeking talented musicians to perform on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (October 24, 25, or 26). Our lineup highlights the rich musical traditions of the region, including Bluegrass, Old-Time, Newgrass, Gospel, Folk, and Mountain Music. Musicians are typically scheduled for two 45-minute sets, alternating between two stages to give audiences the chance to experience multiple bands in a short time. To ensure a smooth experience for all, we ask that performers adhere strictly to their designated start and stop times.

All applications will be reviewed by our Mountain Makins Music Committee, a dedicated team of individuals passionate about curating a lineup that reflects the heart and soul of our festival. They carefully consider each submission to ensure a diverse, high-quality musical experience for our attendees.

Applications are due by June 30 to allow our team ample time to review submissions and contact selected bands. If you’re ready to share your sound with an appreciative crowd in a vibrant festival atmosphere, please complete the form below to apply. We look forward to celebrating the magic of music with you!
