The Maine Fishermen’s Forum Board of Directors offers a scholarship fund to benefit children or grandchildren or a legal dependent of someone actively involved in harvesting wild caught or farmed Maine seafood, or a Maine-based resource law enforcement officer regardless of financial need or academic achievement.
Please note that previous winners are not eligible.
We are no longer accepting proposals for the 2025 seminars.
The Maine Fishermen's Forum is accepting proposals through November 30th for educational seminars held over the three days of the Forum taking place at the Samoset Resort from February 27 - March 1, 2025.
We welcome proposals that:
• Address new or hot issues facing the wild harvest fishing or aquaculture industry
• Promote information sharing among industry, scientists and managers
• Promote audience engagement and interaction
• Bring contrasting perspectives and encourage respectful dialogue among participants
• Strengthen networks and collaboration
• Provide replicable models for success.
The deadline for proposals is November 30th. Proposals will be vetted by our board of directors and all submitters will be notified of placement or rejection, by December 20, 2024.
Association Meetings at the Forum
If you wish to apply for space for an association meeting, or to use meeting space for any reason, please use this application. Meetings will be placed on a space available basis, with priority given to educational seminars.
Travel Requests
Travel may be supported in exceptional circumstances only. Please contact executive director, Kathleen Gilbert at forum@mainefishermensforum.org ifyou wish to request travel funds.
This CPR/First Aid course takes place on Thursday during the Forum.
This offering is for up to ten people and provides Coast Guard Approved Certification by the American Safety and Health Institute.

Daytime activities are available from 12:00 - 5:00 Friday and Saturday. Kids' bag lunch may be purchased for $10 with sandwich, fruit, cheese and a beverage. Daytime activities include board games, ping pong, foosball, and a movie.
Kids' meals and evening activities 5:00 - 9:00 Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Kids' dinners may be purchased for $10. Evening activities include a craft, movie, storytelling, and kids' yoga.
