IbashoCon reserves the right to revise this Code of Conduct at any time and for any reason, without notice.
Please be considerate of other attendees, hotel guests, volunteers, exhibitors, and all other individuals in or around the venue space. Any violation of hotel or convention rules may result in badges being revoked, a permanent ban, and/or law enforcement intervention. Any attendee suspected of or caught violating state or federal laws at IbashoCon will be reported to local authorities.
All bags are subject to search. No weapons of any kind are allowed on the event premises. Please refer to our Dress Code and Props Policy for further information.
Consent to Photography
Any photographs or videos of attendees taken by IbashoCon in an official capacity may be used or published without further consent from those being recorded. Flash photography is strictly prohibited, except for official IbashoCon employees and pre-approved members of the press.
Code of Conduct
IbashoCon strives to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all convention attendees. All badge holders are expected to follow these rules:
Badge Requirement: Your badge must be worn and visible at all times. Anyone found in IbashoCon event spaces without a badge will be asked to leave.
Inappropriate Behavior: Behaviors such as running, moshing, inappropriate screaming, and similar actions are not tolerated in event areas. Attendees will receive a warning for such behavior, and repeated violations may result in removal from the convention without a refund.
Harassment and Bullying: Harassment and bullying in any form will not be tolerated. Depending on the severity, violators may receive one warning, but further offenses will result in badge revocation and removal from the event without a refund. If you feel targeted, please alert a staff member or law enforcement officer immediately.
Cosplay Is Not Consent: This includes unwanted talking, touching, and photography.
No Smoking or Vaping: Smoking or vaping (including electronic cigarettes) is prohibited inside the Hilton Raleigh North Hills and in any IbashoCon event rooms. Smoking is allowed only outside the hotel, no closer than 25 feet from doors, windows, or ventilation.
Vendor and Solicitation Policy: Only pre-approved vendors and exhibitors are allowed to sell merchandise or services in their designated areas. Attendees attempting to sell merchandise or offer services without permission will be asked to leave without a refund. This includes photography services.
Respect for Property: Do not damage or destroy property belonging to the Hilton Raleigh North Hills or IbashoCon. You are responsible for any damage you cause.
Equipment Handling: Do not remove tables, chairs, or other equipment belonging to IbashoCon or the venue without permission from staff.
Dress Code: Attendees must wear appropriate attire at all times, including in cosplay. See our Dress Code and Props Policy for detailed guidelines. Failure to adhere may result in removal without a refund.
Traffic Flow: Please avoid obstructing stairways, doorways, and other common areas. Use designated seating areas and avoid blocking pathways with personal belongings.
Photography Equipment: Free-standing photography equipment (tripods, stands, etc.) is not allowed without prior written permission. No commercial use of photographs or recordings taken at the event is allowed without written consent from IbashoCon.
Sleeping in Common Areas: Sleeping in common areas of the Hilton Raleigh North Hills is prohibited. Hotel rooms are available through the convention block or nearby hotels.
No Outside Food or Drink: Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the venue, except for medical reasons.
Illegal Drugs: Illegal drugs are prohibited. Anyone caught using, carrying, or attempting to sell illegal drugs will be reported to local authorities and asked to leave the convention without a refund.
Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages are only allowed if purchased through the Hilton Raleigh North Hills by individuals of legal drinking age. Attendees found to be excessively intoxicated will be asked to leave the convention area.
Pets: Pets are not allowed inside the venue. However, service animals are welcome.
Dress Code and Props Policy
IbashoCon encourages attendees to express their love of fandom while maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere. Attendees violating the dress code will be asked to change; repeat violations may result in removal without a refund. IbashoCon reserves the right to make case-by-case decisions regarding the dress code.
Coverage: Outfits must cover the breasts, genitals, and buttocks, as required by state law. No pasties, tape, or body paint in place of a full-coverage top. Tops must not be transparent.
Offensive Imagery: Clothing with vulgar or inappropriate content, including swastikas or other offensive symbols, is prohibited, even in cosplay.
Masks: Masks are allowed, but security or staff may ask you to remove them. Masks that restrict vision are discouraged.
Footwear: All attendees must wear shoes or sandals, as required by the venue.
Rolling Footwear: Roller skates, rollerblades, Heelys, skateboards, and scooters (except for mobility aids) are prohibited inside the venue.
Leashes and Chains: Leashes, ropes, or chains extending between attendees are not permitted.
Costumes Resembling Emergency Personnel: Costumes resembling law enforcement or emergency services personnel are not allowed. IbashoCon reserves the right to assess such costumes.
Prop Check: All cosplay props must be reviewed, approved, and tagged before entry into the convention. Props may need to be altered to meet safety standards.
Weapons Policy: IbashoCon has a zero-tolerance policy for weapons. The following items are prohibited:
No guns: This includes real, replica, or toy guns.
No projectiles: Including blowguns, crossbows, slingshots, etc. No props or weapons capable of firing any projectile or powder charge of any kind.
No live steel: Including swords, knives, and similar items.
No explosives or chemicals: Including fireworks, mace, or pepper spray.
No blunt weapons: Including clubs, bats, and similar items.
No hard props: Props made from metal, wood, or fiberglass.
No metal spikes.
No items causing excessive noise: Such as vuvuzelas or horns.
No laser pointers: Props which contain lasers must have batteries removed.
No glass.
No tasers.
Purchased Props: Props bought from vendors that don't comply with the policy must be stored immediately in your hotel room or taken to a vehicle.

Liability
IbashoCon, its personnel, and affiliates are not responsible for any damage, theft, injury, or loss. Attendees are responsible for their actions and belongings and for any consequences. IbashoCon staff is available to assist in any situation, but civil or medical emergencies must be handled by the appropriate authorities.
Final Word
IbashoCon reserves the right to remove any attendee from the Hilton Raleigh North Hills grounds for unsafe or harmful behavior, or for repeatedly failing to follow the rules.
