The Cornell Art Museum is calling artists for its newest exhibition, “Hot Glass”, in collaboration with the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts. This group exhibition opens Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 6pm to 9pm.
Artists are called to submit captivating, artistic expressions in glass drawing inspiration from the world around us. In this exploration, artists will showcase various techniques in impactful contemporary glass works. Exhibition will be curated in a collaboration by Marusca Gatto, Cultural Arts Director, and Eli Cecil, Creative Director of Benzaiten Center
Here are the details:
* NEW Exhibition Dates: October 19, 2024 through March 2, 2025
* Curated by Marusca Gatto and Eli Cecil
* Exhibition opens October 19, 2024 (6pm to 9pm) - Live music and refreshments, meet and greet artists
* Exhibition will be installed in the lower three (3) galleries and Atrium of the Cornell Art Museum.
* Exhibition remains on view through March 2, 2025
* Special events, art talks and glass art demonstrations by notable glass artists are planned at both Cornell Art Museum and Benzaiten Center during the run of the exhibition.
* Applications must be submitted by EXTENDED DATE September 21, 2024.
* Application must include high-resolution images
* Also must include a brief artist statement
Submissions of glass artworks in all various forms are encouraged; blown glass, fused glass, cast glass, flame-worked glass, stained glass and glass installation.
