About the event
Parade 2PM to 3PM Festival 3PM to 8PM Street Party 8PM to 11PM Project Pride SRQ invites the community to the vibrant Rosemary District in downtown Sarasota for the Gulfcoast Pride Festival & Street Party, featuring a market comprising numerous local vendor booths, a parade, live music, fabulous performances, surprise guests, and much more. This year's celebration is co-presented by Project Pride SRQ and the GULF COAST COMMUNITY FOUNDATION! The MARKET runs from 3-8 p.m.; the STREET PARTY continues through 11 p.m., with musical headliner ZEE MACHINE from Los Angeles. This year's parade Grand Marshal will be Ken Shelin, former Sarasota City Commissioner and Vice Mayor, and drag headliner will be PORK CHOP, from RuPaul's Drag Race. Get ready for an unforgettable day of celebration, unity, and pride. The festival was formerly known as Sarasota Pride but has been rebranded as the celebration now also encompasses the former Manatee Pride event as well. This family-friendly, free event is open to all; sponsorship opportunities are available. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19, 2024! Gulfcoast Pride is always FREE for attendees. Legendary Star of RuPaul's Drag Race! Porkchop
Victoria "Porkchop" Parker has worked on cast at many of the great Show clubs in the country:"Legends Raleigh, NC," "The Connection Louisville KY," and "The Chute Nashville TN." He has also traveled the country entertaining the masses, he has entertained in over 40 states and has been lucky enough to capture the title in over 100 pageants, including 5 national titles. In 2003 Victor won one of the most prestigious in his industry "Miss Continental". Victor has made numerous appearances on TV including "My Life's a Drag", "My Life is a Sitcom", "Extra", "Insider", "Entertainment Tonight", "The View", etc. He was cast on the first season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" which is currently is about to enter its 6th season on LOGO. He was also featured in the movie "Trantasia" and was the break out star of the award winning documentary "Pageant". He has also appeared on the TruTV network show "Southern Fried Stings". In late 2011 he was scene on NBC's 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in a "Twelve Days of Christmas" skit. Victor was also selected as a contestant in the 2012 Miss'D America Pageant, which is held in the original home of the Miss America Pageant, the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Atlantic City press reported "Porkchop" stole the swimsuit competition in his Miss Piggy swimsuit". He was selected 1st runner-up from a field of 15 contestants from around the country. Upon Returning to NC in late 2007 to accept the position of Hostess and MC at Legends in Raleigh, Victor soon realized he had many unfinished goals in his home state. In 2008 Victoria Parker captured the titles of Miss North Carolina For Female Impersonators, Miss Legends, and was crowned the 30th Anniversary Miss North Carolina America. In 2009 he captured the titles of Miss Indiana USofA at Large and Miss Ohio Valley Entertainer of the Year. In 2010 the MTV network Logo called on Porkchop to film an update on what he had been up to since the first season of Drag Race "Where the Frock are they now" saw Victor capture the title of Miss NC USofA at Large. Victor is proud to say "I have won NC USofA at Large three times 92, 97, 2010. Victor also served as Business and Production Manager of the 2010 Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant, he was also one of the founding member's of this official Miss America Preliminary. He also serves as a registered judge in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant System. In November of 2011 Victor captured his fifth national title winning Miss TRI-STATE ALL STAR held yearly in Pittsburgh, Pa. In early 2012 Victor decided to relocate to Los Angeles, CA where he always dreamed to live," Dreams do come true". Victor continues to entertain, travel and compete. The STREET PARTY is scheduled for 8 pm to 11 pm

 

Independent Artist, Non-Profit organizations, and For-Profit busnesses will be provided a 10 ft x 10 ft space on Boulevard of the Arts.  Food Trucks / Trailers will be provider larger spaces in dedicated areas.

 

Canopy / Tent may be rented through Project Pride SRQ at an additional cost as part of the application process.

Don't miss out on this exciting event!

Get ready to strut your stuff at the Gulfcoast Pride Parade! Starting at 2 PM, our fabulous procession marches down Main Street, where love, joy, and a sea of rainbow colors will fill the air. Join us as we march alongside incredible performers, marching bands, and our inspiring community leaders. And did we mention? You can also sign up to help carry a section of the world's largest LGBTQ+ Pride flag! This is your chance to be part of a spectacular celebration that ends at Boulevard of the Arts in the heart of Downtown Sarasota's "gayborhood" in the Rosemary District. Whether you're marching or cheering from the sidelines, this is where the party starts!
