Instructed by Linda Munoz, Glass on Glass Mosaics is an opportunity for participants to create a “glass -on- glass” mosaic panel. Skills learned will include glass cutting, stained glass design, and grouting. The two day class will emphasize safe handling of glass and tools. This class will meet from 1-4 PM on Saturday, June 29, and then on Sunday, June 30, students will be given a 30 minute time window between 1-2:30 to come and grout their work. The $15 materials fee will be payable to Linda Munoz at the start of class on Saturday via cash or check. The workshop has a minimum of 5 participants. Attendance is limited to a maximum of 10 students. This workshop is for ages 18+. If the workshop does not meet the minimum, participants will be refunded. Tickets are non-refundable once the registration deadline ends. About Linda Munoz: Linda Muñoz has been a stained glass artist since 1980.Her interest in glass has led her to a love of mosaic art and kiln fused glass. She has taught the art of mosaics to children and adults, and as a DANA Teaching Artist,she has taught an integrated mosaic arts program in approximately 25 schools across the Black Belt of Alabama.She has also enjoyed teaching mosaic art to adults in several programs across the state. She has also taught children at the Akron, Alabama, Boy's and Girl's Club and the Coleman Center for Arts and Culture. ​ Linda Muñoz has been making fused glass jewelry recently, and she has purchased a larger kiln which enables her to create larger art pieces. She studied advanced slumping and fusing in January 2005 at the John C. Campbell Folk School, learning new techniques and methods of design.Muñoz works and teaches classes in her studio, Little River Art, Cuba, Alabama. Her work can be seen at the Kentuck gallery andcourtyard ( mosaic benches and the mosaic tree),at the United Nations Worship Center in NYC,on the stairs at De Soto Falls near Mentone, AL,and at Black Belt Treasures in Camden, AL.
