Get a glimpse of what it’s like to live downtown! On Saturday, June 1, from 2pm-6pm, Downtown Joplin Alliance invites you to join its 2024 Downtown Lofts Tour, showcasing historic properties available to rent or buy in the downtown area. This "open house-style" tour will take you into some of downtown's most fascinating properties--some units will be fully furnished and occupied, others will still be in process of renovation. Expect to even see a few properties where restoration has not yet begun! The final lineup of buildings: the Christman's Lofts; the Muir Building; the Moss-DeGraff Building; the Frisco Station Lofts; the Willington Lofts; the Independent Building; the Hollcroft-Stults Building; the Columbian Apartments; and the Pennington Lofts. Tickets are $25 and will grant entry to all properties on the tour, as well as a commemorative guidebook. Separate tickets are also available for the after hours Tip Top Toast: A Vip Reception Under the Stars! Join us on the roof of the historic Columbian Building at 420 S Main St from 7pm-9pm, for live music, signature cocktails, and small plates. Tickets are $75 each, include a ticket for the daytime tour, and are limited in quantity. This is a rain or shine event--no refunds given. In case of the inclement weather, the Tip Top Toast Reception will move to a suitably awesome indoor location. All proceeds will benefit Downtown Joplin Alliance, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of our historic downtown district.

Parking instructions

Downtown has nearly 4200 parking spaces. For this event, all booklets must be picked up at Coley's Cookie Co. at 901 S. Main, but you can park in any of the lots downtown for a central location if you wish to walk. Ample street parking is also available.

Health & safety

This is a primarily self guided tour, so you should be able to manage your own comfort level, but during high outbreak times, masks and distancing are still recommended.

This ticket allows the holder to participate in the after hours Tip Top Toast: A VIP Reception Under the Stars event, following the 2024 Downtown Lofts Tour. Purchase of this ticket also allows admission into the daytime Lofts Tour itself. At Tip Top Toast, revelers will gather on the rooftop of the historic Columbian Building at 418 S Main and enjoy live music, a signature cocktail, wine, beer, delicious small plates, and decadent sweet treats, all while enjoying sweeping views of downtown. In case of inclement weather, this event will move to a suitable (though still very cool) indoor location. This fundraiser benefits Downtown Joplin Alliance, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to the continued revitalization of our historic downtown district.
