Description
This two hour class is designed for beginners, ages 12 and up, who want to learn the basic techniques of using sidewalk (pastel) chalk. By the end of this class, you will have learned some skills, and created a colorful piece. This class will be taught at the Charlotte Art League, 4237 Raleigh Street, Charlotte, NC 28213, on Sunday, June 26th from 2pm to 4pm and we will be outside, shady side of the building, on the sidewalk creating chalk art. All art supplies and water will be provided. Bring what you need to be in both shade and sun. We'll use the sidewalk on the side of the building. Instructor: Elle Walsh, born in New York, is a self-taught artist. She's been living in Charlotte for the past 12 years. "What started as writing quotes via chalk on the sidewalk to cheer neighbors, has evolved into more intentional messaging, oftentimes incorporating complementary art. Her goal is to create pieces that are thought-provoking, and can leave a positive impact on the community. She's done work for Charlotte is Creative, South End, the City of Charlotte, Earth Fare, and more." You can learn more about her at CLTChalkArt.com and on Facebook at CLT Chalk Art or on Instagram @CLTChalkArt.
