Application for the 10th Annual Bravo Awards. Categories include both Visual and Performing Arts. This contest is open to students in grades 9-12 who have achieved excellence in the field of Fine Arts in public, private, and home schools and they must be a resident of Hamblen, Jefferson, Cocke, Claiborne, Grainger, or Hancock Counties. One award will be given in each of the two categories - visual art and performance art. Winners and finalists will be invited to present their creations at a celebratory dinner and ceremony on Thursday, April 13th at 6:15pm at Rose Center Council for the Arts. It's super easy to enter! You can win up to $500! Submissions include: 1. Portfolio: A portfolio of the artist's work will be submitted to the Rose Center Council for the Arts for judging. For visual arts, all media will be considered. For performance art, instrumental, Theatre dance, vocal, and spoken word performance will be considered. The portfolio must include only two (2) examples of current work. For performance art, a recording (audio or visual) should be submitted of two (2) examples not to exceed 3 minutes each and, if selected, must be performed at the banquet. Only current work will be accepted. Previous submissions will not be accepted. 2. Artist's Statement: A written statement that introduces you as an artist/ performer .Explain what being an artist /performer means to you . Statement must be typewritten and not exceed 75 words. 3. Letter of Recommendation: The letter of recommendation will be submitted by a person with knowledge of the applicant's ability in the chosen arts discipline. * This program will culminate in a celebratory banquet at Rose Center on Thursday, April 13th, 6:15pm. Finalists will be invited to display and /or perform their work at the event. The winners, selected by a panel of judges from the Rose Center Artists' Advisory Council, will be announced that evening.
