About the event
Several small arts-based businesses in Anderson County have been coming together on the first Saturday in November each year to form an annual Open Studio event known as "ART TRAIL". This event has steadily grown, bringing in more and more people each year. It is this event that developed into the Anderson County Arts Council and we welcome you to join us as we continue to advance the arts in Anderson County and our community! VIRTUAL this year, we hope you join us in the FUN! We will have videos by artists, live zoom calls with artists, musicians and some videos created by arts based non-profits and businesses playing on this site throughout the day (10 am - 5 pm), Saturday November 7th. Videos will remain available to watch all month, after Saturday, November 7th. Shops here for each artist, will be open the whole month of November! All members of ACAC have been invited to share their work and process this year. Enjoy at your leisure!

Follow to explore the writings of Writer & Anderson County Arts Council Supporting Member, Teri Carter
I don't write OpEds. I write personal essays that put a face on the topic of the day, an attempt to connect what's happening in the government (national/regional/local) to our real lives, to our common humanity. When people ask how I can do this kind of work in the current environment, especially while living in a deep red state, there is one answer: I am an optimist, still. Writing about politics has led me to a new love: teaching. I have an MFA in creative writing, and these days you can find me in the classroom at The Carnegie Center in Lexington, KY. I'm currently working on a memoir about being both a stepchild and a stepmother.

The Lawrenceburg Academy of Performing Arts, Inc.
The Lawrenceburg Academy of Performing Arts, Inc. has been providing music studio instruction for 25 years. We began with private voice and piano instruction and have offered guitar & violin instruction over the years as well. We have a fully licensed Kindermusik Educator that has been recognized through the years as a Maestro Level instructor. Our Kindermusik group classes are music & movement classes for Newborns - Age 7 and focuses on the whole child and music, movement & brain development. We are also involved in taking music & movement into local schools through our Kindermusik at School program. In 2017 we started the Lawrenceburg Children's Choir comprised of students in Grades 1-12 and soon followed with the Lawrenceburg Children's Theater which produces one Children's theater production per year. We offer a variety of music & theater camps for students and before COVID-19 hit we had enrolled for our first Community Adult Choir, which we hope to one day resume. Lawrenceburg Academy of Performing Arts, Inc. is in their second year bringing the Boots & Bourbon Nashville Songwriter Festival to Lawrenceburg at the Barn at McCall Springs. This is a writer round of Nashville's top hitmaker Songwriters. We have had the honor of hosting Lee Thomas Miller, Wendell Mobley, Paul Overstreet & Jeffrey Steele, whose hits have included songs recorded by Rascal Flatts, Randy Travis, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton & Montgomery Gentry to name a few. This songwriter festival is in the fall each year.

Jennifer Vaughn
Jen is an art teacher, jewelry maker & artist. She enjoys using spiritual themes in her work and incorporating scripture & positive messages. Jen has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Ohio State University, with a focus area of drawing and painting. Although she’s been teaching art for over 20 years and making jewelry for 10, Jen has only recently revived her love for “pushing paint around.”
