“CIVIL REMEDY” is a southern rock/country band from Lexington, South Carolina featuring a lineup of musicians with more than 25 years of combined experience entertaining audiences worldwide! The band members include: Otto Hage (Vocals, Guitar, Harp), Amber McLeod (Vocals), Joel Player (Guitar, Vocals), James Storrs (Bass, Vocals), David Headrick (Keys) and Preston Hage (Drums, Percussion). “Civil Remedy” performs regularly as a full 6 member ensemble from the coast to the foothills. My creativity is inspired by the French Salon painters and how they captured history, social conscience and architecture by painting the people and environments surrounding them. My travels to paint landscapes during my plein-air painting sessions led me to produce a body of beautiful abstract paintings inspired by nature’s ever-changing scenery.This new body of work digs deep into the natural world by amplifying the shapes found in nature through color, movement and line. These works strive to blend my love of science with art and explore the various microcosms and organisms among flora, fauna and atmosphere.

A strong affection for the earth’s creatures and rural landscapes is evident in Laura’s acrylic and watercolor works. They are rich in color and texture, playing ever so tenderly with the complex waltz of light and shadow. One of her most fervent desires is for a patron to connect with a fond memory or emotion through one of her paintings. Laura is a member of 701 Center for Contemporary Art and participated in that organization’s Open Studios events in 2018 and 2019 and 2022. She has been a featured artist in the City of West Columbia’s events “Art on State” and “Fall Back Fest.” Her work regularly can be found at M Gallery and Wood & Fabric in Lexington, SC.
