About the application
The City of Lawrenceville is seeking cosplay photographers to participate in Free Comic Book Day On May 7th. Artists who are experienced or just getting started in cosplay photography are strongly encouraged to apply.
The cosplay photoshoot mini-event will be advertised from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Each photographer selected will be given a location to shoot and the City of Lawrenceville will manage all cosplayer pre-registration for their available time slots. The photoshoots will be held in the Kistner Gallery at the Lawrenceville Arts Center. There will be a standard black pipe and drape set up to block the windows.
Before the event, the photographers will be sent their list of participants and load-in information. All photographer must bring their equipment and are encouraged to bring their assistant. The City will have volunteers, but may not be able to provide a volunteer for everyone.
All photographers must check in by no later than 9:30 am.
Must be ready to shoot by 10:30 am.
(Specific Load-in Information will be sent out the week of the event, please note all check-in locations will be at the Lawrenceville Arts Center)
Each time slot is 15 mins. After the event, we ask that 3 photos from each slot be edited and uploaded to the City's shared drive. Photos may be branded, but no obstructing watermarks. These photos must be uploaded no more than 2 weeks after the event. After that, the City will give the participating cosplayers access to their photos.
Terms & Conditions
- All photographers who apply to be a photographer will need to provide a link to a portfolio and will be vetted, similar to vendors & artists
- Being Approved does not give you any special photography access. You must adhere to signs/instructions indicating no photography is allowed, and stay in public spaces (i.e you are not permitted backstage press pit access, or other areas of the con you would not normally be able to access.)
- Photo equipment/lighting cannot impede the flow of traffic or be disruptive/intrusive. (I.e. hand-held light kits are fine, but do not set up a backdrop and softboxes)
- The City of Lawrenceville is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment.
- Being approved does NOT give you permission to publish photographs of people without their express consent
- Understand that this event is a free event providing photographers with subjects and cosplayers with a photo opportunity. You may not charge for your services at this event, but you are welcome to advertise your services. You may have a tip jar, but you cannot solicit money from the participant.
- The City of Lawrenceville will be showcasing photographers on our social media pages prior to the event, by filling out the application and signing the release form you are agreeing to the use of your images.
