Texas Bootblack Contest

Thank you for your interest in competing in the Mr. Texas Leather contest.  The Mr. Texas Leather contest began in 1997 and has had multiple title holders not only make impact in the Texas leather community but compete and represent the state of Texas on an international stage.

By completing this application, you are taking your first steps in joining a family of leathermen and marking the beginning of a new journey in your life that is fulfilling and rewarding.

The following are the official rules of the contest. These rules may be amended by the producer as needed. If this occurs, all parties involved will be notified. Complete honesty and full disclosure are expected of all contestants at all times. Any contestant not following the rules will be subject to discipline in the form of point reduction or disqualification.

At the time of application, social media accounts may be reviewed. Any questions regarding past behavior will be addressed at this time. Any affiliations, issues, or concerns that could reflect poorly on the individual candidates and the contest must be divulged immediately. Examples would be (but are not limited to): symbols that promote racism or bigotry, speech that suppresses diversity and inclusion, rhetoric that is consistently inflammatory in nature; promoting willful consent violations.

All contestants will participate in all contest categories, as given under the scoring guidelines.

Contestants shall not attempt to influence the judges through gifts, meals, favors, or any other kind of items or acts that could be seen as bribery.

Illegal drug use is strongly discouraged. Contestants should also be aware of their alcohol use and not be intoxicated in any way during the contest. Points may be deducted from the social dynamics portion of the scoring for violations.

Genital nudity and actual sex acts are not permitted on the stage. All contestants must have their genitals covered with at least opaque material at all times.  New update: Jockstraps DO NOT require the crack to be covered; however, showing your anus is not allowed. 

All rules and regulations imposed by the AKW event must be followed. Removal from the AKW event will result in immediate disqualification from the contest.

The producer, staff, and volunteers organizing the contest do not have any authority to override the judges’ decision. The Head Judge oversees the judging team. Concerning the scoring, the decision of the Head Judge is final.
