If you are planning to cook on-site you must have on premises a portable fire extinguisher. LP gas containers must be located outside and safety release valves must be pointed away from the structure. They must also be ziptied or attached to the tent in a stable way. Generators and other internal combustion power sources shall be separated from booths or structures by a minimum of 20 feet and shall be isolated from contact with the public by fencing, enclosures or other approval means. Please let me know if you need a generator. The floor surface inside booths or structures and the grounds outside and within a 30-foot perimeter shall be kept clear of combustible waste. Such waste shall be stored in approved containers until removal from the premises. Under no circumstances may combustible waste such as grease & cooking oil, be discarded in any trash receptacle on the festival grounds. Fines resulting from improper storage or disposal of waste shall be charged to the exhibitor’s card on file.
Entries may be withdrawn and fees refunded prior to May 1. After May 1, no refunds shall be granted. The Kirkwood Spring Fling is a rain-or-shine event, so please plan accordingly for the weather.
Timing and instructions for arrival, setup, service, judging, and tear-down will be communicated by festival management prior to the festival. Competitors must arrive and remain on-site during the communicated times and shall not leave the designated space unattended once the festival has opened at noon until the competition has completed and all materials removed from the site.
Space assignments are at the discretion of festival management and may not be changed without approval. Competitors are responsible for providing tents, ingredients and cooking equipment. The assigned space will generally be 10' x 10' and competitors may not setup outside the assigned space or conduct any activity (including signage, lights and sounds) that interfere with festival operations, neighboring competitors, or movement of guests & volunteers throughout the site. In particular, sidewalks cannot be blocked and streets must remain passable to rescue vehicles in the event of an emergency. Electrical connections will not be available.
Competitors shall comply with all logistical and safety instructions communicated by festival management or uniformed on-duty government employees (including Atlanta Police and Atlanta Fire Rescue) while on-site.
Competitors acknowledge that photography and videography may be used during the festival--both by staff and attendees--and such media may be used in the promotion of future festivals and related events by Kirkwood Neighbors Organization. By attending the festival you agree to grant permission to us your voice, image and likeness without further contract or compensation.
Neither Festival Management and its agents or representatives, including any subcontractors, nor the Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization, and its officers and representatives, will be responsible for injury, loss or damage that may occur to the applicant or to the applicant’s employees or property from any cause whatsoever prior to, during, or subsequent to event. It is agreed by the parties that the nature of the facilities available, the presence and circulation of large numbers of people, the difficulty of effective supervision over the protection of large numbers of removable articles in numerous booths, and various other factors make it reasonable that each exhibitor shall assume the risk of any injury, loss or damage. By submitting this application, the applicant hereby assumes such risk and expressly releases the organizer and individuals referred to above from any and all claims for any such loss, damage or injury. Protection against unauthorized removal of property from the booth occupied by the exhibitor shall be the applicant’s responsibility. The applicant shall be liable for any damage caused to its designated space or other participant’s property
