The holiday magic is alive and well in Palmer. We invite you to join us December 13th-15th for Colony Christmas 2024! Celebrate the holidays as only Palmer, Alaska can! Join with those near and dear in the fun and festivities Colony Christmas has to offer. Hayrides, Gingerbread Contest, Cornhole Tournament, Cookie Contests, Parade of Lights, fireworks, multiple craft fairs, and so much more! More details coming soon.

About the application

Please fill out the following application for the 2024 Colony Christmas Parade of Lights.

 

Join us on a magical journey through a winter wonderland! Adorned your float, bikes, animals, etc. with twinkling lights, & festive decorations. We'll be spreading holiday cheer and creating lasting memories for all who witness our parade of lights! 

 

  • Lighting: Floats must be adequately lit with festive lights to create a dazzling display.
  • Decorations: Use your creativity to design a float that captures the essence of the holiday season.
  • Safety: Please ensure that all electrical connections are secure and that there are no hazards on the float.

Terms & Conditions

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT:  I, and the entrant I am authorized to represent, agree to indemnify and hold harmless Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce, its Board of Directors, committees, and members, against any and all claims which results from participation in the 2024 Colony Christmas Parade by entrant I represent.

 

RULES & REQUIREMENTS

Documentation/Insurance

To keep everyone as safe as possible, entrants are asked to ensure that all vehicles (with the

exception of farm tractors) and drivers are licensed, registered and insured, and to have an

increased awareness of vehicle proximity to walkers.

 

Proof of Insurance must be submitted with entry form.

With these and other safe-guards we will enable all parade-goers

and entrants to celebrate this exciting event safely.

 

Safety Notes

Car & motorcycle groups will be required to drive 2 abreast along the parade route. There will be no

revving of engines, “wheelies”, or “laying rubber.” You may not throw candy or items from moving

vehicles. All items must be handed out by individuals walking along the route. Failure to abide by

these rules will result in being denied entry in future parades.

 

All entrants with animals must provide cleanup immediately following the animal.

 

Check-In/Number Assignment

Thank you for your terrific support! All participants must check in with our Parade Leader between 4:00 & 4:450pm, on December 14th. All parade entries must be in place by 4:45pm. 

 

Prizes

1st place awards will be awarded. Awards will be awarded for

the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. All winners will be notified within two weeks of the event

using the contact information provided in the application.

 

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD

The GPCC will conduct a poll for a time period after the parade in order to determine the "People's

Choice". The recipient of the most votes in this poll will receive an award within two

weeks of the conclusion of the poll. The poll will be conducted on the Colony Christmas Facebook page.

 

Important to Note

Limit the length of your entry, and avoid extended stops/performances in front of the reviewing

stand. Holding up the parade for considerable amounts of time may lead to elimination from prize

consideration.
