This annual event, held in conjunction with the Depot Days Festival, offers participants of all ages and fitness levels a chance to enjoy the scenic route through our charming town. The primary purpose of the Depot Days 5K is to raise funds to support heart health initiatives in Hartselle. By participating in the race, runners, walkers, and supporters will contribute to vital community health programs and resources that promote cardiovascular well-being. Whether you're a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or just looking for a leisurely walk with friends and family, the Depot Days 5K has something for everyone. Come out, get active, and help us strengthen the heart of Hartselle!

About the application

The primary purpose of Strengthening the Heart of Hartselle - 5K is to raise funds to support heart health initiatives in Hartselle. By participating in the race, runners, walkers, and supporters will contribute to vital community health programs and resources that promote cardiovascular well-being. 

Terms & Conditions

1. Registration and Fees

  • Participants must complete the official registration form and pay the required registration fee by the specified deadline.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

2. Eligibility

  • The race is open to individuals of all ages. Minors (under 18) must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver of liability.
  • Participants must be in good health and physically prepared to run a 5K.

3. Race Packet Pickup

  • Participants must pick up their race packets at the designated location and times provided by the race organizers.
  • Photo identification is required for packet pickup.

4. Race Day Rules

  • Participants must follow the designated race route and obey all instructions from race officials, volunteers, and law enforcement.
  • Use of bicycles, roller skates, rollerblades, and other wheeled devices is prohibited. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed.
  • Pets are not allowed on the race course.
  • Participants should not bring headphones or any audio devices that might distract them from their surroundings.

5. Safety and Medical Assistance

  • Medical personnel will be available on race day. Participants are encouraged to seek medical advice from their physician before participating.
  • Any participant experiencing difficulties during the race should alert the nearest volunteer or medical personnel immediately.

6. Timing and Results

  • Official timing will be provided. Participants must wear their assigned race bib with the timing chip.
  • Race results will be posted on the official race website and at the event venue.

7. Awards

  • Awards will be given to the top finishers in various age categories as specified by the race organizers.
  • All participants will receive a finisher's medal.

8. Liability and Waiver

  • Participants acknowledge the risks involved in participating in a 5K race and assume full responsibility for their participation.
  • By registering, participants agree to release and hold harmless the race organizers, sponsors, and any affiliated entities or individuals from any liability arising out of their participation.

9. Photography and Media

  • By participating in the race, participants consent to the use of their image, likeness, or voice in any promotional materials or media coverage.
  • Participants may not use personal photos or videos taken during the event for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of the race organizers.

10. Weather Policy

  • The race will be held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or other emergencies, the race may be postponed or canceled. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

11. Code of Conduct

  • Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
  • Any behavior deemed inappropriate by the race organizers will result in disqualification.

12. Amendments

  • The race organizers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes through the official race website or email communications.

By registering for the 5K race, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
