- If you plan to have a car, truck or float you will need to provide the name of the driver, a photo or copy of their driver's license, and proof of insurance on the vehicle. This will need to be submitted before the meeting or brought to the parade.
- Will your entry contain any of the following?
- Will you be playing music? Or broadcasting anything from your group?
- Description of your Parade Entry. Include details of the theme, design, number of vehicles, etc.
- Do you want your group's entry to be judged? Judges will determine who has best expressed the parade's theme which will be announced by January 5.
- Have you participated in previous Palm Beach Pride parades?
- How many people, including yourself, do you estimate will be part of your group?
- Parade participants may hand things out to people along the side, but nothing can be thrown or tossed. Your group must continue to walk, and not stop to hand out items.
- I understand that photographs and videos will be taken during the parade for the purpose of social media and marketing. This consent DOES NOT allow for any sale, or leasing of, any photographs taken at this event by Compass Community Center. You are agreeing here to authorize Compass Community Center to take photographs and videos of those in your group which may be included in media coverage, marketing materials, social media posts, and viewing by the general public.
- The parade will be live stream broadcast from the intersection of Lake Ave and K Street. Plan to have your group be especially loud and excited at that spot. Should anyone in your group not want to be shown on the live broadcast they should avoid that intersection and reconnect with your group beyond that point.
- Please describe your agency, business or group for the announcers to use during the livestream commentary. Consider sharing how many years you've been part of Palm Beach Pride, how your group partners with the LGBTQ community, etc.
- There will be a mandatory parade meeting via Zoom. Please verify you will have someone attend, ideally sharing the name of your group's entry captain.
- We ask that you designate 2 or 4 members of your group to be "Minders" to walk on the outside edges of your group. Their role is to ensure your group stays together & prevent gaps. Please provide their names now or at the March 14 meeting.
- All members of parade entry groups must comply with instructions given by Compass staff, designated Compass volunteers, and Palm Beach Sheriff Officers prior to, during, and immediately following the parade. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from Palm Beach Pride parade and/or festival, and forfeiture of any application fees.
- Parade participants must continue moving once the parade starts to avoid large gaps, including moving through red traffic lights as streets are closed.
- Palm Beach Pride requires all parade entrants and vendors to show respect for all sexes, ages, races, religions, cultures, creeds, sexual orientations, and gender expressions. All participants must have appropriate and suitable costumes that comply with the Florida Statutes and Code of Ordinances for the City of Lake Worth Beach. Compass and Palm Beach Pride reserves the right to exclude any entry or entrant it deems unsuitable for the parade.
- Compass’ Palm Beach Pride vendors, contractors, sponsors, staff and volunteers, and all personnel associated with the festival agree at all times to honor and abide by the following statement of nondiscrimination in word and action. Anyone associated with the festival/parade, or their employees or associates on festival grounds in violation of this agreement will be asked to leave the parade or festival grounds immediately and will forfeit all rental fees, sponsorship fees, and damage deposits as applicable. Additionally, any actions taken or statements made to individuals or groups contrary to this policy or the spirit and intention of this policy are not permitted on festival grounds, or in any communication associated with the festival.
