About the event

The Kennett Square Mushroom Festival celebrates our local mushroom industry, and our Kennett Square Community—the Mushroom Capital of the World. Festival attendees can sample a variety of mushroom inspired foods, from deep fried mushrooms to mushroom jerky and more. Learn about our unique process of growing mushrooms, meet our local mushroom farmers and take home local mushrooms! Attendees can also visit over 195 craft and food vendors, who offer mushroom-themed goodies while visiting the delightful Kennett Square boutiques, and enjoy a variety of restaurant options in downtown Kennett Square! The Mushroom Festival is a nonprofit organization, which distributes a portion of the proceeds from the festival, to various non profit community organizations thru a grant process. Attention all Moms, Dads, Grandparents,
Aunts and Uncles:


Do you have a fantastic photo of a special “button” that’s just the
cutest around? Enter it in the Mushroom Festival’s Cute-As-A-Button
(Mushroom) Baby Photo Contest!

 

At the Cute-as-a-Button Booth near State and Union streets
photos of each contestant are on a donation box.


• The public “Votes” for their Cutest Button, Crimini and Portabella with their pocket change.


• The entry in each category that collects the most donations will be crowned 2024’s Cutest Button, Crimini, and Portabella.


• Winners will be announced on our website and in the Chester
County Press.


• All donations benefit A. I. DuPont Children’s Hospital.


• Prizes awarded to the top three that collect the most donations in each category.

Terms & Conditions

Categories:

Buttons: 6 to 15 months (age on September 7, 2024)
Criminis:15 to 24 months (age on September 7, 2024)

Portabellas: 24 to 36 months (age on September 7, 2024)


Photos: digital (jpg files) preferred, professional studio photos cannot be accepted.

 

Photos of babies/toddlers must be taken during the same period as the birth date/age category entered.


Rules:
• One photo per entry fee
• Professional photographs are not eligible.
• Multiples (twins, triplets) in same photograph are allowed as one entry
• A first name or nickname will be used to identify each photo. .
• Photos will be displayed (only first names or nickname) on the Mushroom Festival website prior to the Festival.
• The winning Cute-As-A-Button baby photos will be published in the Chester County Press, announcing them as the
2024 Cutest Button, Crimini, and Portabella.
• The winner of each category will receive a $50 gift certificate to The Growing Tree Toy Store in Kennett Square, PA.
