2024 Carnaval SF Photographer Application

Carnaval San Francisco, the largest multicultural festival in the West Coast, is a project that CANA organizes, with the goal of educating people on the Latino, Caribbean and African Diasporic traditions of the Mission District and the San Francisco Bay Area. We accomplish our mission through dance, music, the visual arts and by creating spaces for community learning, school–based education, and advocacy. Our Grand Parade boasts a 60–contingent lineup, with over 3,000 artists representing the cultural heritages of Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Bolivia, Cuba, Peru, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Colombia, Trinidad & Tobago, Guatemala, El Salvador, and more to participate, televised by CBS. The Grand Parade covers 20 blocks in San Francisco’s historic Latino Cultural District in the Mission.

Welcome back to the Carnaval Festival and Parade!

 

Please complete this form to photograph and/or record video on the Carnaval Parade route Sunday, May 26, 2024. For the safety of all participants, we will be doing only handing out a total of 100 Media passes this year. If you are within those 100 applicants, the information on file will be charged upon approval. This fee covers the costs of press passes and distribution.

 

Registration closes April 15th. The lottery will be drawn on April 19, 2024 and winners will be notified via email. Passes will be distributed Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Festival and Sunday, May 26th before the parade. Please wear your media pass at all times on the route.

 

We are so excited to welcome you all back and cannot wait to see the amazing media you create! We will have a google drive folder ready for you all yo upload your media for us to post. Credit will be given, so please be sure to include your social media profiles!
