About the event

The Cowlitz County Go Fourth Festival was founded in the 1960s, making it one of the oldest and largest Fourth of July celebrations in Washington State. One of the few events in the area that still put on a firework show on the 4th of July, the Go Fourth Festival attracts many visitors each year to the local area and boasts an average annual growth rate of 12% over the last five years. In addition to a Fourth of July fireworks show, the Festival consists of many events and includes an American Lumberman’s Association (ALA) sanctioned Timbersport competition, including three World Championship events, Cardboard Boat Regatta, continuous daily entertainment, arts & crafts booths, a parade, a carnival, and more than 20 food booths to tickle anyone’s taste buds.

About the application

The 2024 Go 4th Association would like to invite you to participate in the annual 4th of July parade!

This year the parade will be held Thursday, July 4, 2023 at 10 am. The theme is “__________”. Plaques will be awarded to the best entry in each category. Once you indicate that you or your group will be participating, a map will be sent to you the week of the parade of the lineup area.

Please note the following rules regarding parade procedure:

All entries must be received by June 20, 20223
Handouts are permitted by walking participants only
Nothing can be thrown to onlookers
Equestrian units must provide a clean up service
Please pick up your children after the parade
Disband at 25th & 24th between Larch and Louisiana
Children are not allowed to ride back to the lineup area on the floats
All floats MUST provide a fire extinguisher

Please Note: The City of Longview is not allowing the honking of horns during the parade—so thank you for observing this

Terms & Conditions

You will receive your entry number and map location the week of the parade. Please select one individual in your group to be a representative who will check in with parade officials the morning of the parade. Entry forms should be submitted no later than June 20, 2023. I/we hold blameless the Go 4th Festival Association, its sponsors, agents and participants and the City of Longview for any accident or injury during my/our participation in the 2023 Go 4th Festival Parade
