Thank you for your interest in becoming a vendor at the City of Kissimmee’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Festival. We are proud to offer small businesses, artisans, and food vendors a place to grow their businesses and connect with the community while highlighting the continued influence of Dr. King’s message. We carefully select each of our vendors with the intent of providing our guests with an experience specifically related to the event theme.
The primary theme of MLK Festival is unity, diversity and goodwill. Accepted vendors are intended to supplement the core theme while adding variety to the festival.
We prioritize accepting the following applicants for vending:
1. Vendors that promote unity, diversity, and goodwill.
2. Artisans that highlight the continued influence of Dr. King’s message through original works of art.
3. Businesses that provide activations/enhancements to the overall event experience.
Due to the large volume of vendor applications and space capacity, if your submission does not fall with in one of the above (3) categories then you may not be selected to participate in the event. Vendors who are selected to participate or placed on our waiting list will be notified via email.
VENDOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Vendor will not be permitted to move in unless licensee is present or without prior approval from the City of Kissimmee Event Coordinator, Supervisor and/or designee.
BOOTH SPACE: All food vendor spaces must have a canopy. Each individual vendor space is 10’x10’. Vendors requiring more than a 10'x10’ space must ask for additional spaces prior to event day.
CANOPY/TENT WIGHTS: All vendors that use canopies/tents for their booth space ARE REQUIRED have at least 24 pound tent weights on each corner of their canopy/tent. All vendors must operate from under a flame-retardant canopy or from a self-contained trailer. Pushcarts, umbrella stands, display tables, and strolling vendors are not permitted, unless otherwise approved by the City. All vendors must provide their own tent, dollies, non-electrical lighting, and other operational equipment. The City of Kissimmee is not responsible for providing power to any vendor. If you require power this must be purchased in advance from the City of Kissimmee and is subject to availability.
Vendors are responsible for removing empty boxes, trash, plastic bags etc. Vendors are fully responsible for the cleanliness of the area of rental. Area must be left in the same condition, as it was when you arrived. All vendor items must be removed from the premises at the end of the event. The City of Kissimmee assumes no responsibility for any merchandise. The City of Kissimmee does not provide ice to vendors. No vehicles will be permitted to drive into Lakefront Park. All vendors must load in and out at the designated load-in area. Any tent bigger than 10 x 10 will have to submit an application through City Hall.
APPROVAL: Applications will be approved/denied based on event needs, space availability, and/or amount of duplicated products. The submittal of an application does not guarantee a vendor acceptance into any event. All decisions are at the City’s discretion. The City has a right to deny or cancel any vendor that does not follow the professional expectations and guidelines of the City. The CITY DOES NOT GUARANTEE EXCLUSIVITY for vendors on particular items.
CANCELLATIONS: The City has no control over weather and any lost due to event cancelation. PARKING: The streets surrounding the park area are open during the event. Vendors will be directed to a designated parking area to check-in and unload their booth equipment/supplies. Vehicles parked in unauthorized areas are subject to being towed.
LIABILITY WAIVER: All vendors agree to discharge the City of Kissimmee, it’s employees and sponsors from any suits or claims based on property/possession loss or damage. All vendors agree to comply with the rules set forth or implemented on event day. The City reserves the right to revise any rule for the betterment of the events and their customers.
INSPECTION: The City reserves the right to inspect any vendor’s booth space at anytime to enforce all rules & regulations.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Vendors may not dispense any products in glass containers. All food waste must be disposed of properly.
MERCHANDISE SALES: Any and all vendors who take orders or receive money for services that they provide to the attendees of any event held on City property, whether indoors or outdoors, will be subject to pay the required vendor fee, provide a copy of their occupational license along with the appropriate insurance certificate naming the City of Kissimmee as “additionally insured”. The City of Kissimmee reserves the right to place all vendors in locations based on the nature of the event. All vendors will be required to provide a copy of their current occupational license along with appropriate insurance. All vendor fees must be paid to the City of Kissimmee and must be approved by the Event Coordinator and/or designee not less than thirty (30) days prior to the event/show. Payments will be made by cash, MasterCard or Visa.
PERSONNEL: All staffing requirements are at the discretion of the City of Kissimmee Events and Venues Supervisor and/or designee. The City of Kissimmee reserves the right to additionally charge Vendors for services outside the scope of this agreement. The City of Kissimmee does not supply personnel for load-in/load-out, decorating and/or banner/signage hanging.
