Categories: Artists may apply in up to 3 categories. Only the painting, other media and photography categories are judged for show awards.
- Painting: Oil/Acrylic - Original work only, reproduction prints are not considered for this category (Judged Category)
- Painting: Watercolor - Original work only, reproduction prints are not considered for this category. (Judged Category)
- Other Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece. Must include painting and/or photography as one of the mediums (Judged Category)
- Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material is acceptable. (Judged Category)
- Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.
- Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted.
- Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted.
- Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. Items made from commercial parts may not be exhibited.If you sell jewelry, you may apply in a category other than Jewelry if jewelry is less than 10% of your items for sale. Otherwise, you must also apply in Jewelry.
- Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.
- Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.
- Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.
- Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered.
- Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.
- Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.
- Literature: Original illustrated and non-illustrated published works by the author. This is a new category for the Bel Air Festival of the Arts.
- Food: Handcrafted, packaged food items approved for sale to the public. Only a limited number of exhibitors will be accepted.

Youth booths are in limited supply and will be assigned on a Space Available basis in EARLY AUGUST based on application date.

The Bel Air Festival for the Arts (BAFA), intent is to promote the arts by offering the opportunity for artists, craftsmen and performers from across the mid-Atlantic region and beyond a place to exhibit and sell their arts and crafts.
This is an opportunity for non-profit arts education and advocacy organizations to share their stories and build relationships with over 300 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors. A limited number of NO-FEE/FREE booths are available for these organizations so apply early.
Application to perform at the 58th Bel Air Festival for the Arts on Sep 14, 2025 Performers will perform from the Band Shell in Shamrock Park, 39 North Hickory Ave, Bel Air, MD, 21014.
Performers will perform a 45-50 min set starting at 10 AM and running through 4:30 PM.
Performers will be paid between $300-500/set subject to grant funding obtained by the Festival Organizers.
The Bel Air Festival for the Arts is one of the largest single day Arts and Crafts show in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Over 300 exhibitors will be displaying and selling their fine art, orginal photography and hand made crafts. Between 10,000-15,000 exhibitors visit the festival between 9 AM and 5 PM.
The 2025 Bel Air Festival for the Arts is the 58th time the festival has been held. It is a rain or shine event.
