About the event
The City of Griffin and Spalding County are excited to continue the tradition of hosting the Hometown Holiday Illuminated Parade in Downtown Griffin. The parade will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 6:30 p.m., as part of the 2nd Saturday Merry and Bright festivities. Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to sign up to participate in the parade- walkers, golf carts, vehicles, and floats are allowed. To participate in the parade, all golf carts, vehicles, and floats must be Illuminated with holiday lights. Walkers are encouraged to wear or hold festive lights for safety. If your parade entry includes a pull-behind trailer, the length may not exceed 25 feet. **Please describe all parade entries individually in your group when registering (ex: Griffin Main Street program is entering 1 truck with trailer (float), 3 golf carts, and will have walkers)

Parking instructions
Parking and staging instructions will be sent via email to each parade entry on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Each entry type will receive specific parade staging and line-up instructions.

Parade staging begins at 4:30pm and closes at 6:00pm. Once parade staging ends, no other entries may enter the parade route. Refunds for the registration fee will not be given on account of the registrant's failure to be in place before the parade staging ends.  

 

Please have riding passengers WALK to their staging area or plan to meet offsite and arrive together. Only vehicles participating in the parade will be allowed into the staging areas.

 

NO THROWING of objects from vehicles. Flyers, individually wrapped candy, or objects of a similar nature not likely to cause physical injury may be handed to spectators by participants walking.
